Convention 2008

I am in a mad rush to get everything done for convention. These are the swap totes I have made for my roommates. I am trying to load the other photos, but for some reason it keeps coming up as an error. I will try again later. I haven't posted in a while because I have been trying to get all my swaps and 3-D items ready.

Retiring Accessories

Not sure why, but it took me a long time and many tried to get this list on my blog.  So please be patient with me. I seem to have this mental block on changing the files from pdf to jpeg, but thanks to Sue Ann Olsavicky, who emailed me directions when I wanted to put up the Fresh Notes flyer.

Carousel Notes Tack Board

Now I know we can't get the Carousel Notes any longer, they were in the Occasions Mini that ended June 30th. (I sure hope they are in the new catalog). You can use the Brass stencil, Pick a Petal, found on page 187 of the Spring/Summer 2008 catalog to make your own Carousel Notes, I had some left over and saw Linda's post and remembered seeing Mary Jo's post earlier and decided to make them. I found the cork at JoAnn's in the $1 section. You get 4 in a package for one dollar. I used Office Accoutrement found on page 124, ( this is on the retirement list). The big flower I colored using a blender pen and re-inker so the flowers would be two colors. Because these are the In-Colors we don't have markers to match.  I then cut out the flower and used one of the glass bubbles to secure it to the cork board. This was a quick and very easy project. If SU comes back with the Carousel Notes in the new catalog, I will make sure I have a class.

Preview Catalog

These are the new Designer Papers we were able to purchase, Bella Rose.  You will be able to order all of these and more on August 11th when the new Fall/Winter Catalog is released. 

I am going to convention this year, so I will be able to see the new catalog a week earlier, Yeah!!! Right now I am in the process of making up my swaps and other gifts to bring with me using these new In Colors and DSP. We also got to pre-order a few stamp sets. I will be using those also.

Preview Catalog

I got my pre-order for the new catalog on Friday. Here are the new In Colors. Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Pacific Point & Tangerine Tango. Aren't they beautiful?

Decor Elements

I even went over the light switch and the pool controls. All I did was use a razor blade and cut where the toggle switch  is and continue with the design. Took me about half hour to put up all 4 silhouettes. So easy. Make sure you click on each photo. It was really hard to get a good photo of the 2 medium ones in between the windows.

I just added my Decor Elements to my kitchen nook. I used the Large Long-Stem Silhouettes on each side and the medium ones in between the windows.

Scrapbook pages

On this page my niece, Catie is making cup cakes with Jocelyn (my granddaughter). Jocelyn got to add the sprinkles on top of the cup cakes.

I used the scallop punch for the top of the cup cakes and added Pink Glass Mix for the sprinkles.

Here are my 2 granddaughter's wearing  sun glasses from the $1 spot at Target. Who knew they would have so much fun with sun glasses.

Bag in a Box

Here is the set I am giving to my Mother-in-Law for her Birthday. I couldn't get the butterfly card to load on my blog for some reason. Thanks to Candice Briner for the inspiration on the card. She used glitter and chip board for the wings. I couldn't get mine to look like hers so I used the Pick a Petal stamp set on velum with white craft ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I used the Pretty's kit for the middle of the butterfly. You can click on the photo to see it up close. 

Bag in a Box

Here is my version of "The Bag in a Box" by Paula Goff. You get get all the directions here. I used the Spring Fling DSP,  BoHo, round tab & slit punches. Another easy project that packs a lot of "punch".  Also used the half pearls in the Pretty's Kit.

Expanding File Folder

I made this cute File Folder for my Mother-in-Law's Birthday next month. I used the Spring Fling DSP. You can find the directions here. Tricia Morris on The Scrapbook Lounge has a great video. You can sign up to get weekly videos, and it's free. You can see the inside on the top photo. The corn flowers I cased from Connie Babbett. So easy with the scallop punch.

When I posted this the File Folder is first and the inside next, but when I go to publish it does it opposite. So frustrating. Sorry.

Scrapbook pages

Here are two more pages. These are of my granddaughter, Gianna. She is 18 months old. Emily (my niece) took these fabulous photos and really captured Gianna "Happy" and "Not so Happy", no tears, just a pouty face. She loved being in the pool. I had so many photos to choose from and I really wanted to scrapbook all of them, so these pages are very simple.

Decor Elements

I put up my Decor Elements this week-end. Love them, but I am in need of a couple more before I can take photos to share. My pre-order still hasn't been picked yet, so I'm hoping that I will get them this week. I ended up putting my "Create" on one of my mirrored closet doors in my craft room. As soon as you enter you see it. I just need something on the other door. I ordered the Manhatten flowers to go opposite of the Create. I then put the "Long Stem Silhouette" in chocolate in my kitchen nook. I decided I needed another large one on the other wall framing the nook and 2 smaller ones in between the windows. My DH even agreed. yeah! I just have a valence up on the window so there is plenty of room for the smaller ones. (I hope).

Scrapbook pages

I haven't posted in a while as I have been busy scrapbooking all the photos my Niece, Emily took while visiting us here in California from Ohio. She takes such GREAT photos. We went to the fair and these are the photos of my granddaughter's, Jocelyn and Gianna. Jocelyn just was having a ball. Sheer joy on her face as she was riding the merry go round and the car. Gianna not so much, but she is only 1 1/2 years old so next year will be better for her. You can click on each picture to get a better look at the flowers. I wanted the page that says Fair on the left, but thats not how it ended up.

I will post a few new pages each day. I think so far I did 17 pages. Now I just need to get them into a photo album. I haven't scrapbooked in so long I was way over due. The flowers on these 2 pages I cased from Connie Babbitt. I used the scallop punch and slit each scallop, then folded in half and sponged in the center, added a 3/4 punched circle, sponged (of course). The leaves are folded c/s run through my paper crimper and then I free had cut the leaves. This is probably the only thing I can free hand. Oh, and then I sponged each leave.
