Card with a Gift Certificate inside

I haven't posted much lately as I've been getting ready for convention. I think I have most of my swap cards done, so I can start posting some of the things I've been working on. One of my Club Gal's (hi Kellie) needed a gift certificate for a friend, (hi Fran) so this is what I came up with. The card base is Bermuda Bay cut out using the Movers & Shapers die. I stamped the Medallion in basic brown on Whisper White card stock and cut it out. Then I stamped with Bermuda Bay on Whisper White and punched it out with the 1 3/4" circle punch and mounted that on the Basic Brown Medallion and cut them in half and adhered to my card. Finished it off with some Bermuda Bay 1/2" ribbon. The "Happy Birthday" is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  Tip: When applying your ink to the Medallion stamp, use a brayer. The ink goes on much better and you get even coverage.

Wedding Card & Matching Box

So last night I couldn't sleep, (husband snoring, again) and as I was checking my emails found this beautiful card by Flowerbug's Inkspot, and thought I have everything to make this card. So here is my take on her card. Its pretty much the same except for the greeting which is stamped with White Craft Ink on Basic Grey card stock. The base of the card is Whisper White and cut out using the Mover & Shaper die with the heart. I added a small piece of the new Bride Designer paper and the taffeta ribbon. Then I punched out the flowers from Trio Flowers several times and glued them with my glue pen around the heart. Makes it look kind of lacy, doesn't it? I almost forgot, I used the new Perfect Details Textuzed plate on the card base before I added the flowers, ribbon & Designer papers.

Then I saw a tutorial on Ilina Crouse's blog to make this little box out of the Petal card die. I cut 4 of the Petal cards out in Whisper White and cut off one petal on each of them. They you adhere each petal to the next one until you have a box. I then added the Basic Grey & Bride Designer papers to each side and used our Grey Taffeta ribbon to tie it all up. Easy peasy.

New Thoroughly Modern Designer File Folders

Check out these new file folders that Stampin' Up! Now has. You get 12 folders in 4 different patterns. They are really sturdy and would be really cute out on your desk. (Page 117 in the catalog, item #115692, $10.95). Then you can jazz them up even more by using the Favorite Things stamp set. What I did was print the labels on Whisper White card stock, and stamp the frame over the file names using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, then punch them out with the new Modern Label punch (item #116630, page 186). This is a must have punch that also works well with the new Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (#115370, page 145). I also made up signs for my Open House using the Top Note die. I cut out the Top Note using the Thoroughly Modern Designer papers, (#115673, page 163). I love how everything coordinates. We also have Gusseted Envelopes that match this whole organizational theme. My Youngest Granddaughter at Nap Time

I had  my three grandkids yesterday, and Miss Gianna didn't really want to take a nap. But since Grandma needed a nap, she had to have one too! After going in twice and telling her to get back into bed and go to sleep, this is how I found her. On the foot of the bed, with her little butt up in the air, knees tucked under her. Just too cute not to share. My daughter took a photo of her falling asleep on the 3rd step from the bottom exactly like this, just too funny!

Cards for inside our Purses

Here are the cards we made to go inside our purses. We used Of the Earth stamp set which is a level one hostess set and Teeny Tiny Wishes. I love both of these stamp sets. Of the Earth is so fast & easy to use your markers to color in the flower or the butterflies and the bird works perfect with the 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" square punches. We used several punches and of course the Big Shot. My Stamp Club Gals love using the Big Shot. They were really impressed with the square card using the new SU Scallop Square Bigz clear die. You just fold your card stock and place the fold just under the top of the scallops and run it through the Big Shot. So you end up with scallops on all sides except the top. They love using the Mover & Shaper die too. We were able to cut the black scallop and the card out together. The other thing they loved was embossing the butterfly with the Final Press Textured Embossing folder. It just makes the butterfly pop.

Stamp Club Project, Purse & Cards

Check out this cute purse and cards we made today in my Stamp Club. I purchased this pattern from Becky Robert's. She has beautiful photos and instructions. I just changed the Designer papers and the cards are different than hers. When I first saw the new catalog I knew that these Designer papers would be perfect for this project. So we used Nouveau Chic Designer papers, Sage Shadow (can't remember the last time I used this color) &  Apricot Appeal. This purse easily holds four cards with envelopes. I will be posting the cards this week. Doesn't this look like one of those designer purses? My gals loved it. The label is from Fifth Avenue Floral. Its funny I had a whole bunch of those chains for many years. They come on Gloria Vanderbuilt jeans and I saved the chains. They finally came in handy after all these years. We all had a good laugh. Convention Here I come!

I know its been a few days since I posted. My husband, with the help of my upline, Patty Bennett, just got me signed up for convention. Yipee!!! I'm so excited. I've got my plane reservations and I'm signed up for convention. Patty also arranged for me to room with two gals I know, (Steph & Joy).  Steph has already got me signed up for a couple of swaps at convention plus the Control Freak Swap. So I have 3 weeks to get my butt in gear and get everything ready. My head is spinning, so much to do, so little time to do it in........

Open House

I had my first Open House on Sunday. These are the projects we did. The luggage tag and the In color book mark are from Patty Bennett, (love her). I wanted everyone to get a chance to use the new In Color Markers, so A Flower for all Seasons was the perfect stamp to use.  Not a lot of coloring but enough. The card base is Dusty Duringo, and the Top Note was cut out using the Razzledazzle Lemonade Designer Series Paper. We also used the new Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set for the greeting.

 Next was the luggage tag. I cut all of the scallops from Scallop Circle #2 using the card board from the dies when they are new and the new Cottage Wall Designer Series papers. I really love this set of papers. They each cut out their own initial with the Sizzix and punched flowers from the 5 petal punch and the Boho Blossoms punch. This was their favorite project. And then we made the In Color Chart. 

I'm so mad that I didn't take any photos. I completely forgot until everyone was leaving. Oh well, next year.

I also want to thank Kayla for helping me. She is my SU demo in training, and was a BIG help. I think once she finishes college she is going to sign up! She helped everyone make their projects like a pro. Don't know what I would have done without her.

Of the Earth Stamp Set

I love this stamp set, Of the Earth. It is a level 1 hostess set. In both of these cards I used Whisper White for my card base, Melon Mambo & Old Olive (which goes great with all of the new In Colors). What is so cool is that I used the new In Color Markers for the flowers. The first card I also used a large grommet and a Build A Brad, a small piece of dsp from Razzleberry Lemonade and a small piece of ribbon in Melon Mambo. The sentiment is from the last page in the catalog, under $10 stamps. Wish I would have stamped it straight......The second card I used a piece of Melon Mambo card stock and the Eyelet lace boarder punch. Both very easy cards that don't take a long time to put together. I'm all for the fast and easy, but nice.

Medallion Stamp is fast becoming one of my favorite stamps

Both of these cards were so simple to do. I stamped my image on Kraft card stock, both of them going off the edge. Then stamped the same image in the same ink as the ribbon. So, Dusty Durango & Bermuda Bay. Added my sentiment and done! The first card was done using the Movers & Shapers die with the oval scallop. 

Cards to in our Card Organizer

Here are the cards we will be making to go inside the card organizer. These are all simple using the left over Designer Series papers and a little stamping. The first 2 are using the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, (my most favorite), the Eyelet Border punch & Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon.

The card with the flower is our new Blossom Party Sizzix die & more of the Vanilla ribbon. The last card I used the Elegant Bouquet Texturzed folder. Can I say, this is so beautiful in person. This was a 5 minute card. I added one of the butterflies  from the Beautiful Butterflies Sizzix die and ran it through one of the texturz plate, added a couple of half pearls from the Pretties kit and stamped the Thank you, done! All of the card bases were Very Vanilla. You can click on the photos to see them better.

Card Organizer

I've had a couple of requests to do this card organizer. I'm having a class on August 1st and you can choose which Designer Series Paper you would like to use. I used the Bella Bleu papers along with my Big Shot, Blossom Party die & the Simple Alphabet dies.  I also used my Bind it All to put the book together.  I will be showing the cards that go with the book later today. It takes 6 sheets of the dsp for the inside. The card board that comes with the dsp is used for the front and back cover.
