More Autumn Splendor Cards

Here are 2 more cards I made to go inside my Card Box that I showed you earlier. Both of these cards start out with a card base of Confetti Cream card stock. Its been a long time since I used Confetti Cream card stock. The first one I tore a piece of the Autumn Splendor Designer Series paper for the bottom corner. The leaves and acorn are from the Autumn Splendor stamp set. Both of these items are in the Holiday Mini catalog. I embossed with gold Encore ink and used gold embossing powder on Taken with Teal Card Stock. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The second card I did the Polished Stone technique. I love doing this technique. You use your re-inkers again with rubbing alcohol on glossy card stock. My Autumn Splendor class is on the 14th and we will be doing both of these techniques. Luv 2 Stamp Meeting

Yesterday was Patty's Luv 2 Stamp meeting and this is what she gave those of us who help her in setting up, clean up, etc. Inside the cello bag was a bottle of Shimmer Paint, a bottle to make up some shimmer spray and gold elastic cording. And did you notice the cool tag she put on our bags? She did this in MDS (My Digital Studio). We had the best meeting where she talked & showed us tips on using MDS. We got to see what she was doing from her laptop on the white screen. We also got to ask her lots of questions and then had 4 make n takes. I will show those this week sometime. I almost forgot, I also won a roll of Old Olive 5/8" ribbon. Patty is always so generous with door prizes and you should see all the hand outs she gave us. Of course she made them using MDS. They are FABULOUS! Thanks Patty for a GREAT day!

Stamp-a-Stack Cards

This is another card I cased, but this time from the Shoebox Swap we did at Stamp-a-rama, this was Lene'e Pearson's original idea, I changed it a bit. Card base is Old Olive with the Christmas Cocoa Designer papers that are in the mini. Patterned Pines is the stamp set, and I embossed in white on Real Red & Old Olive card stock and cut them out. The ribbon is also from the mini, its called Mistletoe and comes with Old Olive Taffeta ribbon as a bundle, (page 33). The greeting is from Snow Swirled. I also stamped the snow flakes from Patterned Pines in Old Olive on the top half of the card.

Stamp-a-Stack Cards

Here are a couple of cards we did in my last Stamp-a-Stack. This first one is using the level 3 hostess set, The More the Merrier. If you click on this photo you you will see that I used the Petals a Plenty embossing folder, but with a twist. Now you are probably wondering how did I get the oval smooth and not embossed? Thanks to Patty Bennett (she is my upline) If you trace a oval on your embossing folder (I used the oval from the Frame, Oval Scallop die) and then use your hobby blade you can cut the oval out of the folder, thus leaving the middle not embossed. Pretty cool, huh?

So after I embossed the Whisper White, stamped the Snowman and used markers to color in their hats, scarves, etc. Used my 2-way glue pen under the snowman and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter (for the snow), and used a dauber to add some Frost White Shimmer paint on the embossed flowers. Layered this on Real Red card Stock and added a silver elastic cord to finish it off.

This next card is almost a total case from Melanie Schulenberg, who is in our ControlFreak Swap group.

I love Bashful Blue & Soft Suede together. The card base is Soft Swede, next comes the Bashful Blue Card stock that is sponged with Soft Suede. Then added a layer of Soft Swede and stamped the snowflakes in same color using the Serene Snowflakes and punched the bottom with the Eyelet border punch. Next I stamped the larger snowflake and then used our Ornament punch to punch them out. Added Soft Suede ribbon and a saying. Can you say, easy? But gorgeous! The Ornament punch & Serene Snowflakes stamp set are in the Holiday Mini. Thanks Melanie for this fabulous swap.

Anthony & Jeremy

Had to share this photo with all of you. My grandson, Anthony is playing on the floor and Jeremy decides he needs to be on the blanket too, ok so he is hogging the blanket, not that Anthony minds......He loves our dogs. I am trying to read my emails while he is on the floor. Not yet crawling, but close. He does the Army crawl as my daughter puts it, on his elbows. Yesterday he was 7 months old and weighs a whopping 22 lbs.

Autumn Splendor Pop Up Cake

I made this card for my Son's Girlfriends birthday next week. Her name is Autumn and so I thought this would be the perfect stamp set to use with the Pop Up Cake die that is on sale this week.

The card base is More Mustard textured card stock and I used the Autumn Meadows Designer Series paper that is in the Holiday Mini. The leaves I stamped on watercolor paper with Gold Encore ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Then I used my Aqua pen and re-inkers in More Mustard, Really Rust, Taken with Teal & Chocolate Chip to fill in the leaves. I also used the Medallion stamp as a doily for under the cake and embossed that as well. The leaves are setting on the #2 Scallop Circle (the larger one on this die) and I ran it through one of the texturz plates and then the leaves I put on with dimensionals. The sayings are from On Your Birthday. Don't forget this die is on sale for $25.49, until Monday morning, great price.

More Polished Stone Cards

Here are the other cards I did using the Polished Stone technique. Both of these cards use the Delightful Decorations, and embossed with Encore Silver embossing powder. I used the Movers & Shapers die that cuts the card out, scores it and then cuts your shape out too. If you don't have this die, you need it! All of these cards are simple to do. You can't see it in the photo, but I matted each ornament and popped them up with dimensionals. You can click on each photo to see them better.

Polished Stone Technique

I've been seeing a lot of cards using this Polished Stone technique and thought how beautiful it looks, so I decided to give it a try. Here is what I came up with. The first one I did I used the Autumn Splendor and embossed the leaves and the thank you with gold embossing powder. Really makes it pop. Then I thought, I wonder what the snowflakes would look like if I punched them with the same paper. I know its not a traditional Christmas card, but I like the way it turned out. I didn't have any gold encore re-inker so I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer paint. And boy does it ever shimmer in real life.

New Blog Header

I finally got my new blog header the right size to be able to put it on my blog. I made the header using My Digital Studio, pretty cool isn't it? I'm not very computer savvy, had no problem actually making the header, it was getting it on my blog that was the challenge. Thankfully Patty Bennett helped push me along and after several tries I did it. Yeah!

Now to see if I can get a cute little signature line after each post. Ok, so I need to work on that......

Halloween Pencil Holders

I bet you can't tell what I used to make these pencil holders, can you? Look close.....Its the Stampin' Up! Table Setting die. Its the napkin ring times two. Thanks to Julie Dinn for her great Halloween Treat Tutorial. These were simple and fast to make. They will go with the Pudding Cups to my granddaughter's pre-school. Julie had Pixie Sticks in her treats, but I already had the Halloween pencils. I used the Cast a Spell Designer Series papers and also retired papers from last year. The kids don't care if I use retired papers......Need to use up some of my old papers. The stamp set I used was Batty for You.

Halloween Pudding Cups

Its always a struggle at Halloween for the kids to not get so much candy. Patti Scanlan had this idea to make these great covers for pudding cups. So I thought this would be perfect for my granddaughters to take to pre-school. They are really easy to do, heres how:

Cut card stock to 9 3/4" x 3 1/4" and score on 3 1/4" from both sides. For the center I took one of the pudding cups and traced around it.

TIP: I really didn't want to hand cut all the centers out (for the pudding to fit) so I took my 1 3/4" circle punch and punched on each corner (for the cut out). And if you look at mine, its not a perfect whole, but what I found was that it kept the pudding cup in the hole better. Click on the photos to see it better. And besides you don't see the cut out until the pudding comes out.

Then you just decorate as you want. I used some retired Designer papers from last year and also the Cast a Spell Designer papers from this year. Added a little ribbon and stamped something simple for the front and the inside.

Autumn Splendor Card

I've been really busy this week making Halloween gifts for my granddaughters to take to pre-school. But yesterday I took a break and made this beautiful card using the Autumn Splendor stamp set and the Autumn Meadows Designer papers. I wasn't going to get this stamp set, but after seeing Andrea Walford's video on how she did these leaves, it took me over edge and the man in the brown truck brought these yesterday afternoon. I stamped the leaves in Gold Encore and embossed them with gold embossing powder on watercolor paper. Then using re-inkers and my aqua painter I started adding color. After they were all dry I wiped away any color on the embossed area with a paper towel, cut them out and mounted them on Chocolate Chip card stock that I also stamped the leaves in gold & mounted them with dimensionals. I also used the distressing tool in the cutter kit (page 191) on the Chocolate Chip and the Autumn Meadows Designer papers and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. I added a small piece of Dusty Duringo Grosgrain ribbon. The acorns are mounted on a piece of More Mustard cut out with the 1 1/4" circle punch & Chocolate Chip cut out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. This was such an easy card, but you get such a WOW! with the leaves. Don't forget you can click on the photos to see them better.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I'm sure you all know that October is "Breast Cancer Awareness Month". I wanted to pass out little reminders for all woman to get their mammogram and do self breast exams. (Sorry about the poor photo, couldn't get the lighting right). My Mom beat Breast Cancer with early detection, but then lost the fight several years later to Ovarian Cancer because she didn't go to the Dr. when she wasn't feeling good. Its been 6 years since my Mom's death and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her.

The cello topper is the Top Note die folded in half and cut out in Whisper White card stock. I stamped, "Thinking of You" from Teen Tiny Wishes in Pretty in Pink and also stamped the Ribbon of Hope in Pretty in Pink and cut it out. Ran Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon through the Ribbon of Hope stamp. Also added a silver brad in the center of the stamp. Sponged the edges in Pretty in Pink. Inside the bag I added one piece of Ghirardelli Chocolate with a simple message to get your mammogram and do your self breast exams & added a bit of pink shreds.

Jocelyn's Princess Party

For Jocelyn's Princess party we bought the Princess Party Kit on page 174. It comes with the crowns, purses, pennants and food toppers. Then you can jazz them up or leave them as is. Well of course we had to jazz them up a bit. I had a package of Sticky Cuts Letters (page 180) that I had never used and thought why not use the sticky letters to add glitter to the pennant. It was so easy. Since they are sticky on both sides, you just peel them off and attach to your pennant, then take off the top piece and add your glitter. I used the Chunky Sprinkles (page 180). I also added a "J" to Jocelyn's crown with glitter. Now for the cupcakes. I cut out the cupcake holders from the Perfect Setting Big Shot Die (page 200). I cut them out in Pretty in Pink, So Safron, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery & then used some retired dsp that matched. Some of them I embossed with the Finial Press embossing folder (page 195) others with the Perfect Details Texturz Plates. It makes quite the presentation and got a lot of compliments. You can click on the photos to see the detail better. And of course, had to have a photo of the "guest of honor". This was as she was dashing to go play. No real time for a "Kodak Moment".

Happy 4th Birthday Jocelyn!

Today is my oldest granddaughters birthday. What a day its been. Little brother, Anthony has a bad cold, and hasn't sleep for 2 nights thus Mom hasn't sleep either. So my daughter brings over my 2 granddaughters and takes Anthony to the Dr. Well the good news is, its just a BAD cold, his chest & lungs are clear, no ear infection, Yeah! So the girls, Miss Carol (my adopted Mom) & I take the girls out for McDonald's. They love going and playing in the little play ground area. We figured that we would wear them out so they would both take a good nap this afternoon and maybe Mom could get Anthony down as well for a little nap.

My daughter and son-in-law are having a party for her on Saturday. We bought the Princess Party Kit on page 174. This kit is very easy to use and we took it up a notch with some glitter. I will have photos next week. So since Jocelyn loves everything Pink & Princess I thought a Princess Build a Bear was in order.

My card base is Regal Rose and 5 1/4" square. Next a layer of Pretty in Pink that I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Details Texturz plate. After that we needed some sparkle, so I spritzed the card with some shimmer paint mixed with alcohol. For the bear I stamped the crown and the star with Silver Encore Pad and cut them out. Used some of our Pink Rhinestone Brads with the brad part taken off (so just the rhinestone). Her clothes are from the Pawsitively Prints designer papers and the sentiment is from the Beary Nice Wishes stamp set.
