July 1st new 2010/2011 Idea & Catalog Goes Live at Noon! Yipeee!!!!

Thursday we start a new Stampin' Up! year. Brand new catalog with lots of new stamps, accessories, storage and so much more. Contact me if you would like a catalog. I would be happy to send you one if you don't have a demo.
Here are 2 more cards from our Luv 2 Stamp group. This one is designed by Vinnie. She stenciled on glossy card stock with Cherry Cobbler, She embossed on Early Espresso (I always want to spell and say Expresso! Can you tell I don't drink coffee?), the Thanks is from Perfect Punches stamp set and added a bit of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon. So cute! This could be a Christmas card, just change the sentiment.
My next card was designed by Kim. She used all the NEW core colors. Such a great idea! We rounded each strip with the 1" circle punch. You put the paper in through the center of the punch and center it, then punch. You get a nice curved edge. Then we punched the flowers in the same card stock with Itty Bitty Shapes punch and added a clear Bitty Button on the right. The sentiment if from Wonderful Favorites. Also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit for the butterfly.

Stamp-a-rama Projects

Here are 2 more cards from our meeting. This was designed by Sue. We used the Greenhouse Gala dsp (new catalog) and the top was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder (Summer mini, page 24) in Daffodil Delight (new core color). The stamp set is Friends Never Fade, which is one of the sets we could pre-order (perk of being a demo). And yes I know its not straight. Of course didn't realize it until I mounted it on the Pear Pizzazz, by then it was too late.
This card was designed by Saundra. We used the Motorcycle (Summer mini, page 31) single stamp. The card base is Pretty in Pink and the Whisper White was embossed with the Final Press embossing folder. This was a carry over item from a previous mini and is the new catalog. We used the Pretty in Pink marker to color in the motorcycle. We also sprayed it with Shimmer mist mixed with alcohol. The saying is from Favorite Thoughts (Summer mini, page 19).

Stamp-a-rama Projects

When we get together for Stamp-a-Rama we always have a shoebox swap. Here are the first two.
This card was designed by Joy. We used the Elements of Style (love this set)stamp set. First we scored 1/2" horizontal & vertical, then stamped with Melon Mambo. This gives it a faux tile look. Kind of cool. Love the look and I will be doing this again very soon. The hummingbird was stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White card stock and cut out, mounted with a dimensional. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
Next card is from our Fearless Leader, Patty Bennett. We started out with a card base of 4" x 4" in Pear Pizzazz, added a bit of Greenhouse Gala dsp to the bottom, and Poppy Parade card stock to the top that was stamped with the swirls in Versamark using Baroque Motifs stamp set. The flower was made with the 1 3/4" circle punch in Poppy and our new Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch in Daffodil Delight. Don't you love the names of the new papers? The sentiment is from Perfect Punches which is a new stamp set. This is one of my favorite new sets. They all match our punches, NO cutting. Yipee!!

Stampin' Up's! Color Collection Sampler

We made these Saturday at Patty's, Stamp-a-Rama meeting. You can go to her blog and print them yourself and just add the colored card stock. Now you can see all the colors families we have. Just add a ring to put them on. The In-Colors are in a book mark. Great tool to have in your New Stampin' Up! Catalog. I will be adding ribbon as soon as we can order it on the 1st to go on the top of my bookmark and also on the ring of my sampler. Thanks Patty for such a great tool!

Elements of Style Birthday Card

I made this card for my Upline, Patty Bennett for her birthday last month and forgot to share. I used the Bella Bleu dsp (really, again.....) and Crumb Cake for the base. I used the Exclusive Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies die for the large butterfly and stamped the flower image on it with Not Quite Navy ink, then covered the entire butterfly with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder 3 times. After it cooled I bent the card stock to make it look like cracked glass. It was much prettier in person. The smaller butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die. Those I sponged (no surprise here) with Not Quite Navy. The sentiment is from Watercolor Trio (page 16 in the Summer mini) stamp set. Finished it off with some Kraft 3/8" Taffeta ribbon.

Last Stamp-a-Stack Card for June

Here is my last SAS (stamp-a-stack) card we did this month. I love this hostess set called, Punched Posies. Its a level 2 hostess set in the Summer Mini (page 5). It coordinates with the scallop, 5 petal flower, butterfly & large flower punches. My card base is Tempting Turquoise that I ran through the Polka Dot embossing folder and added a 2 1/2" piece of dsp from Island Oasis and used the scallop edge punch at the top of the dsp. Then I stamped my flowers on Whisper White with Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. Punched them out (I only had to cut out the leaves and the small flower in the center.) So this was a pretty fast card. I stamped my Thanks from Thank you Kindly stamp set and punched out with the Wide Oval punch and then layered that on an Old Olive Lots of Tags die. Almost forgot the Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon to finish it off. If you are wondering how I got the 5 petal flowers to curl up I used my bone folder. Stampin' Up's! card stock is great for curling your stamped images.

Two More Stamp-a-Stack Card Shares

This card uses the Sweet Scoops stamp set that is in the Summer Mini, (page 10). We started with a Certainly Celery card base (4 1/4" x 11") and ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. This was in the last mini catalog and is in the new catalog out July 1st. Stamped the cones in Creamy Carmel on a Whisper White Top Note (exclusive Stampin' Up! die). The ice cream was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White, in Chocolate Chip & Pretty in Pink and then cut out and popped up on the card. Added a Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon to that as well. Then I stamped the Let's Celebrate from On Your Birthday in Certainly Celery. Used Real Red & Chocolate Chip markers to stamp the cherry. Punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch & mated with Pretty in Pink, 1 3/8" circle punch. Inside I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Scoops. Have a sweet celebration!
This next card has a base of Bermuda Bay (cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"), using the stamp set, Bouquet Bunch (page 21 in the Summer mini). Stamped the pot and the inside of the tree in Chocolate Chip, filled in the pot with Really Rust using the watercolor crayons and an aqua painter. On a scrap piece of Whisper White stamped the leaves in Chocolate Chip and painted them with Old Olive and Garden Green watercolor crayons. I need to use these more. The gals on Saturday had never used the watercolor crayons. Cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals and added them to the pot. The So Sorry is from In a Word ( page 10 summer mini). We used Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip markers to stamp and punch out with the large Oval Punch & Chocolate Chip Scalloped Oval punch. Added a Bermuda Bay 5/8" ribbon to finish it off.

June Stamp-a-stack

I had my June Stamp-a-stack today and had 3 great ladies come. Here are two of the cards they did today. I think everyone loved the Butterfly card the most!
My card base is Almost Amethyst (retiring on June 30th), with a layer of Elegant Eggplant and then Whisper White that was run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder (page 24, summer mini). But before I embossed it, I stamped the flourish from Elements of Style in two of the opposite corners. The large butterfly is in Almost Amethyst and stamped with the same color using the big flower stamp and sponged. This butterfly die is an exclusive Stampin' Up! die and it has 4 different butterflies on the one die. The smaller butterfly is embossed and sponged as well. Added two half pearls from the Pretties Kit (retiring June 30th) to the center, along with some Hemp Twine to make the antennas. Stamped the For You and punched out with the 1" punch and layered onto the 1 1/4" circle punch.
I totally cased this, but changed the color. I can't remember who I cased it from, but if its you, please contact me and I will add your name and blog link to this post.
The second card they did today has a card base of Pixie Pink (retiring June 30th), with a bit of Presto Patterns (page 15, summer mini), that was brayered in Old Olive. The flower is from Watercolor Trio (page 16, summer mini). We used Pixie Pink, Crushed Curry & Old Olive markers before stamping. That is layered on Pixie Pink & Old Olive. Added a strip of Old Olive and used the Eyelet border punch. Stamped the Birthday Wishes with Pixie Pink and punched out with the Designer Label punch. I also punched out an Old Olive piece and cut it in half and layered behind the greeting. Finished it off with some Whisper White Satin ribbon.

Flower Window Fold Card

Here is another card by Andrea Walford. This is part of a class that I purchased from her. Isn't it stunning? Yes I used the Bella Bleu Designer Papers, again. I am going to be sorry to see this one go. I love how the card opens and the flower cut out with our Extra Large Flower Punch.

Party Favor Boxes

Have you seen these cute little boxes that are in the Summer Mini, (page 27)? They remind me of Chinese take out boxes. You get 6 each of 2 designs. 12 boxes for $5.95 with belly bands. They are coated and really nice. The other pattern is white with dots on it. I added the Stampin' Up! Island Floral die to the belly band. Totally makes the box, don't you think? This would be perfect for some fudge, nuts, buttons, a bit of ribbon or anything small. So many possibilities.
Here is the box without the belly band.

Watercolor Trio Card

Here is another sample with new products. The card base is Rose Red. The Vintage Wallpaper, Embossing Folder is in Pretty in Pink (new catalog item), the stamped image is from Watercolor Trio (page 16 of the Summer mini), layered onto Old Olive. The Whisper White piece was done with the Scallop Trim Border punch (this was a free item during Sale-a-bration. It is in the new catalog). I can never remember the name of this punch. Then I ran a piece of 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta ribbon over it and tied it with a box (also a new item that comes in 13 colors). The greeting is also from Watercolor Trio and stamped in Old Olive, punched out with the Large Oval and then the scalloped Oval .

Two Tags Mini Handbag

I found these cute little purses on Amanda's blog. This is another simple little gift and another reason you need the Two Tags Die, a Stampin' Up! exclusive, (page 198 in the big catalog). In my sample I used the Bella Bleu dsp (page 162) okay, so I'm stuck on this dsp......Gotta use it up before it retires, 18 more days until the NEW catalog comes out. Back to my purse, you will need 2 of the larger tags and a strip of dsp or card stock, 1" x 6". This is a perfect project to use up some of the FREE Sale-a-bration dsp you got earlier this year.
You will adhere the 2 tags together with snail and then take your 6" piece and run it through both of the slots. Holding the top of the 2 tags, bring the strip down and adhere to the bottom of your purse. This makes like a tent. That makes your purse. Pretty cute, isn't it?
For the handle I used Crumb Cake and first punched with the small oval and the punched the Wide Oval over that. That leaves you with a ring. You will snip off part of the bottom section and use glue dots to glue in between the top of the 2 tags, and decorate any way you want. I used a small Kraft Corduroy button.
I used Dotto (repositionable adhesive) on the bottom of each miniature candy bar and stuck them inside my purse. At least who ever you give this to will be able to eat the chocolate without messing up your purse.

Two Tags Basket

I saw this basket on Glenda's blog. She has a great video.
You need:
2- of the larger tags on the Two Tags Die
1- 2 3/4" x 6 3/4" same color as your tags
1- 1/2" x 8 1/2" card stock for the handle
or 1 1/4" x 8 1/2" for a lace handle (using the Scallop Trim Border punch)
You will score at 1/2" on the long sides & 2" on the shorter sides. The tags already have a score line on them, so you will only need to add sticky strip near the score line & the edge of one tag and then adhere them together. On the side piece you will cut up to the score line on the 6 3/4" side and burnish your folds, add sticky strip on the 1 /2" sides and adhere to the 2 tags.
For the first basket I used Sage Shadow ( it will be retiring on June 30th). For the first time I used the new Builder Wheels in the Summer Mini (page 9) in Chocolate Chip. Now with these wheels you can use the triple cell cartridge and put in 3 different colors. I have one, but just can't commit to which colors to use right now. I'm waiting for all the new colors so I can purchase the ink refills. With the Builder Wheels you can choose any way to arrange them, or only use one or two of them as well. I sponged around all of the edges with Chocolate Chip and added a tag from Teeny Tiny Wishes and some Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon. Added some chocolate in a small cello bag with a bit of ribbon as well.
The second one I used the Bella Bleu (page 162 in the big catalog) dsp. The sentiment is from a new stamp set called, Perfect Punches which will be out on July 1st. (We as demonstrators were able to order a few items from the new catalog.) I used the Curly Label punch to punch it out and added a button from Button Latte (page 181 in the big catalog).

Sneak Peak from the New Catalog, Comes out July 1st

Do you see a couple of new items here? Ribbon, embossing folder & new colors, yep you are right. The card base is Marina Mist (love that name), and the other new color is Daffodil Delight. The new embossing folder is called, Vintage Wallpaper. I inked up my brayer with Daffodil and rolled it on the embossing folder and then put my Whisper White card stock inside and ran it through my Big Shot. What did we ever do before the Big Shot? If you don't have one of these, you really, really need one. Sorry, got side tracked for a bit. Do you see how it put the ink only on the back ground? I then took some of our new 1/8" Taffeta, Marina Mist ribbon (comes in 13 colors) and tied it around the Vintage Wallpaper strip. The stamp set I used is a level two hostess set called punched Posies (Page 5 of the summer mini) and the birthday greeting is from On Your Birthday (page 139 of the big catalog).

Tea Light Card

This card I made for my daughter's 29th birthday this month. Can't believe my first born will be 29, yikes, that makes me really OLD.
Edited to add: Here is Michelle Singer's blog with directions on how to make this card. At the time I posted I couldn't find her post.
This dsp is from the Level 3 Lovely Flowers hostess set. It came with stamps, Rub-ons and dsp. Its so beautiful you really don't have to do much but add a greeting. I might add some butterflies, what do you think? This is such a great idea to give to someone who loves candles. You could also make the candle holders using the Flower Folds die with sheet metal. The tea lights go perfect inside them.

Bouncing Brayer Technique

I just learned how to do this technique (thanks to Kelly). Its called "Bouncing Brayer". Kelly has a great video, check it out.
I wanted to use one of our "new" colors, Cajun Craze for the card base, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". You ink up your brayer and bounce it in a circular motion (watch Kelly's video). In the middle of that stamp with Versamark the Extreme Dirt Bike Stamp and emboss with black embossing powder. I layered that on Black with another layer of the Bouncing Brayer and Black. That all was layered onto my card front that I had stamped with Cajun Craze using the Extreme Elements. The sentiment is from On Your Birthday, stamped in Cajun onto vanilla and punched out with the large oval punch. That is layered onto one of the tags on SU Lots of Tags sizzlits in Black.
Finally a good "Man" card. This is for my Son-in-law's birthday this month. He will be 30 years old.

Bouquet Bunch Swap

This was my swap for Patty's meeting. I cased part of the card from I think it was Becky Robert's. My base is Melon Mambo with a strip of Razzleberry Lemonade punched with the Pinking Hearts Border (which is in the new catalog, Yipeee!!!). I used the smaller tag from the Two Tags die and cut one from Whisper White & a portion of one from Melon Mambo. The sentiment is from Herb Expressions (also in the new cattie). Added a jumbo eyelet and used the stamp set, Bouquet Bunch for the pot and the tree. This stamp set is in the Summer Mini (page 21). I cut out both the pot and the tree top and popped them up with dimensionals. I tied a bow around the pot using our Linen Thread, and added a bit of Melon Mambo Grosgrain ribbon through the large eyelet.

Step it Up CupCake Card Class

I am having a class to make this "over the top" card on Sunday, June 27th. We will be using the retiring Ball Die to make the cupcake inside the card. Cost is $20. Please RSVP by: June 19th. Includes a roll of Sticky Tape. This card was designed by Sophia Landry, (Andrea Walford's sister). This is the first of 5 over the top cards they have designed. You will be seeing more classes for these cards as I make them up. You can add a gift card inside the top note. Over 9 layers and very sturdy.

First Day of School Flip Album

Isn't this cute? A little Flip album. This demo was done by Kendall MacAdam's. I'm saving this for my Granddaughter's first day of kindergarden, Jocelyn starts school in July. We used First Day Stamp Set (summer mini, page 25). I love the book worm.

Itty Bitty Bits Card

Sue Tapia did her demo using the Itty Bitty Bits (page 11 of summer mini) & Bitty Buttons. We also got to use some of the Island Oasis (page 27 of the mini). The buttons on the top were strung on Linen Thread, such a cute idea.

Watercolor Trio Card

Does this look familiar? This is another one of the make n takes we did at Patty's meeting. Its a case from page 16 of the Summer mini catalog. Kim Wong did her presentation using this stamp set, Watercolor Trio. This is a 3 x 3 card . This was a fast and easy project, great for those thank you's you need to make.
Start with a 3 x 6 piece of Old Olive card stock and score at 3".
Stamp Leaves in Chocolate Chip and then Old Olive.
Stamp Thanks so Much in Versamark, cover with white embossing powder and heat.
Stamp butterfly in Pumpkin Pie on Very Vanilla scrap and cut out.
Wrap Bashful Blue 5/8" satin ribbon around card and tie into a knot.
Punch Scallop Square from So Saffron cardstock and adhere to backside of the card front, so only half a row of scallops are showing.

Covering 5/8" Brads

We made this flower at Patty's, Luv 2 Stamp meeting last month. The flowers are from the Pretties Kit and then we covered the 5/8" brad with dsp (Designer Series Paper). The smaller flower was cut out from Stampin' Up's! Birds & Blooms die (and the Big Shot, of course. If you don't have one of these babies, oh, you need one!), using the Presto Patterns dsp (page 15 of the Summer Mini). You can check out her tutorial here. I cut out a Top Note (Big Shot Die) and ran it through Stampin Up's! Square Lattice embossing folder, (page 24 in the mini). It gives the paper so much texture. Added a piece of Dusty Duringo Grosgrain ribbon and added the sentiment from In a Word, (page 10 in the mini). I stamped the US in Expresso (new color coming out July 1st) and layered it on Marvelous. This was a pretty fast and simple card.
Ok, now this was my 3rd post for today, you are probably getting tired of me by now. I'll have more from Patty's meeting tomorrow, so stay tuned.......

Happy Birthday Pennant!

Here is the last of my husband's birthday decorations. Did you know they don't have anything at the Party Store that says 55? Yep, only even numbers, so I had to make my own. I used the Pennant Die from Stampin' Up! and the Go Go Boots Number Sizzlits die for the 55. All were cut out in Black and White. Super simple. For the flags I put a piece of Sticky Strip along the side that I adhered to the rod. At the moment I can't think what these are really called, but you can get them in all different sizes. I put them in my plants and the Happy Birthday I hung up on the valence for my blinds. I almost forgot. In between the Happy & Birthday I used the Scallop Circle die & the Scallop Circle #2 die.
I also used my White Gel Pen (on the black) and Black Marker (on the white) to jazz up the numbers and letters a bit.

Another Day with my Grandkids!

Another busy week. I watched Anthony & Gianna (Jocelyn was at pre-school) on Thursday and had to share with you how Anthony fell asleep. He finally gave out after fighting it for an hour. At first he came and laid between my legs (as I was trying to look at the new catalog). I had just pried his sippy cup out of his hands and waited a minute before moving off the couch. This is how he re-positioned himself on the end of our couch.
How can you NOT love this little guy? We were out playing in the yard with water, which is why he doesn't have any clothes on. One of my dogs (Cassie) loves to lay on the end of the couch like this with with her butt on my lap. She thinks she is a lap dog.
Gianna was getting ready to help me set the table for lunch. On Thursday's Miss Carol (my adopted Mom) brings us soup from Pannera's. She has been doing this since Jocelyn was a baby and she is 4 1/2 now.
Another cute face!
I will have one more birthday share later today.
