Workshop Cards!

Here are 2 cards we did at Clarice's workshop, (yep, you read it correctly, I actually had a workshop and another one for this Friday, yipee!). Clarice and her friends wanted to do a couple of techniques, so here is what we did:
First up is the French Foliage card. You will need the following:
Old Olive c/s & ink, (page 166)
Cajon Craze c/s & ink (page 168)
More Mustard c/s & ink (page 168)
Early Espresso ink (page 169)
French Foliage stamp set, (page 14 of the Holiday Mini)
3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Old Olive, (page 191)
Scallop Rectangle Clearlits (page 211) to use in your Big Shot!
We used the rock n roll technique. Ink up your stamp in the lightest color, then rock and roll it around the darker color. It gives you a two tone look.
Next is another Polished Stone card. I found this color combo using my Color Coach, which is on page 165. This is something that I have found to be quite helpful and use it a lot when I'm stumped on which colors to use.
Rich Razzleberry c/s (page 166)
Whisper White c/s (page 169)
Black ink (page 169)
Rich Razzleberry re-inker (page 166)
Pretty in Pink re-inker (page 167)
Early Express re-inker (page 169)
Decorative Label punch (page 25 of the Holiday Mini)
Birthday Bakery stamp set (level 1 hostess set, page 10)
5/8" Rich Razzleberry Satin Ribbon (page 191)
Rich Razzleberry marker (page 166)
Pretty in Pink marker (page 167)
Rubbing Alcohol (non- SU)
large cotton balls (non-SU)
This was there favorite card of the night.

Happy Halloween!

Here is a quick little treat I found on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog a while back. She has a video on how to make them. I bet you can't guess which die I used? Its the Table Setting die on page 208. This is actually a napkin holder. I love when we can use our dies and punches for other things. You could also use these for any holiday. Think of the possibilities, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and just because. Thanks Kimberly!
So here is what you need to make one of these babies:
Crumb Cake card stock (page 169)
Wicked Fun dsp (page 172)
Black Ink (page 169)
Decorative Label punch (page 25 of the Holiday Mini)
Modern Label punch (page 202 of the big catalog)
Designer Jewels (page 8 of the mini)
1/2" Lace Trim (page 8 of the mini)
Table Setting die (page 208 of the big catalog) & of course the BIG SHOT!
Wicked Cool stamp set (page 23 of the big catalog)
Here a a couple more I made.
Inside I put Skittles & LifeSaver Gummie Circles.

Serene Snowflakes

Here is another card we did in my last Stamp-a-stack.
Card base is Very Vanilla, a layer of Baja Breeze and then another layer of Vanilla. Stamp with Baja Breeze using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, (page 42). You will use 2 snowflakes die cut with the Northern Frost Decorative Strip, (page 38 of the Holiday Mini) in Baja Breeze and mount them on top of a couple of the stamped snowflakes with a Pearl in the center. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (page 157) and stamped on Vanilla with Baja Breeze and punched out with the large oval and mounted on the Scalloped Oval punch. The ribbon is the 1/2" Vanilla seam binding in the Holiday mini on page 21. I also sponged around the whole card with Baja Breeze.
I seem to be on a "Snowflake" kick now........

Snowflake Christmas Card

My husband and I are back from a much needed long week-end away. We went to Fort Bragg, walked the beautiful Botanical Gardens all the way to the ocean. On Saturday we rode the Skunk Train. What a history lesson we all got. It was fabulous, even though it rained the whole week-end. We also went to Glass Beach, which was the dump in the early 1900's and all the glass has been washing up on the shore for all these years. Now we weren't the only ones out on the beach as it was pouring rain. We got soaked to the bone. Of course it was sunny and beautiful this morning as we were leaving...........
Okay, now onto some stamping. I cased this card from Lee Conrey (I think), and changed it up a bit to make it my own. This is one of the cards we did in my last Stamp-a-stack.
Card base is Whisper White, with a layer of Sahara Sand (can't remember the last time I used this color), and finally another layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, (page 214). We also die cut the large Snowflake (page 213) and sponged them both in Soft Suede. We used the Northern Frost Decorative Strip, (page 38 of the Holiday Mini) to add the Baja Breeze snowflake and topped it all off with a Antique Brad, (page 187). To finish the card off, we added the stripped ribbon that I pleated (you need to use Sticky Strip for the ribbon to stay) and added the sentiment from Season of Joy, (page 33 of the big catalog).

Thank You Polished Stone card!

Here is another Polished Stone card. This time I used Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery & Platinum Shimmer Paint.
This one I used the Elegant Lines embossing folder, (page 214) and added some of our FABULOUS Pearls, (page 188). If you haven't tried these yet (or the Rhinestones) you should. They are self adhesive. TIP: Use the tip of your scissors to pick up the Pearls or Rhinestones. Works like a charm.
The ribbon is our 5/8" Organza in Whisper White. The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly, punched out with the Wide Oval and the Decorative label punches.
Another simple card, but elegant, don't you think????

More Polished Stone Cards!

I'm stuck on this technique. So bare with me...
The first card I used Bashful Blue, Marini Mist & Platinum Shimmer Paint. After my sheet dried, I embossed it with the Finial Press embossing folder, (page 214). Pretty, right?
And this is what it looked like when I finished. You really don't need to add much because the card is beautiful without a lot of extra embellishments.
Then I tried Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and Champagne Shimmer Mist. You have to be careful not to muddy your card when you have a darker color. The Shimmer Mist paint makes both of these cards just shine. I embossed this card with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder.
And here is the finished card. Pretty again. I did use my Cherry Cobbler marker to add the centers of each flower. I thought that gave it a nice touch. We did this card in my last Stamp a stack. The gals in class loved having a refresher course on this technique. You know, what's old is new again.....Oh, and we added a few Rhinestones in between the flowers. Again you don't need a lot to finish the card.

Halloween Treats

Here are some Halloween Treats using the same bags as I used for the Ribbon of Hope Treats. I used the Wicked Cool stamp set, (page 23, in the Big Catalog). I found these candy corn candies at our local grocery store in the bulk section.
Edited to add: I purchased these bags through the bulk buy at LNS (Late Night Stampers). You can also purchase them through clearbags.com, but the shipping is terrible.
Here is a close up. I used Pumpkin Pie & Rich Razzleberry for the 2 3/8" Scallop Circles and stamped all the images on Whisper White and punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. Sponged each one before adhering them together.

Ribbon of Hope Give Aways

I'm giving these away to remind women to get a MAMMOGRAM this month.
Edited to add: The Pink Chocolate covered sunflower seeds, the gum balls & the pink M & M's I purchased at my local craft store. (you know the one I'm talking about......)
I've used the Ribbon of Hope, (a-la-cart stamps, page 20)stamp in Regal Rose and stamped the Thank you in Basic Grey on Whisper White card stock & punched out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. That was mounted on the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch in Regal Rose.
The skinny bags were filled with: Pink M & M's, Pink Gumballs & Chocolate Covered Sunflower seeds in Pink. I filled the skinny bags with the candy and sealed it, then stapled the bag to the front of the Scallop Circle and layered the Whisper White Circle on top to cover the staple.
I can't wait to give these away. I made up some cello bags last year and gave them away. People are truly surprised when you had them one. I also put my contact info on the back of the scallop.

Polished Stone Christmas Card!

I had this piece in a pile that I hadn't done anything with. While my downline was here, we took it out. I thought I wonder what it would look like if I embossed it? Well, it looks beautiful! I added a few Rhinestones (I love these, if you don't have any, you really need some. And the Pearls too!) You can find them both on Page 188 of the big catalog. Click on the photo to see it better.
The Polished Stone Technique is done like this:
Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and using classic ink refills dot the ink in 3 colors (more or less depending what you want). For this card I used, Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue (which is retired. Remember I did this a while back), and Platinum Shimmer paint. Then you dab the cotton ball onto Glossy White cardstock, (page 170) in a random motion until the cardstock is filled up and it looks the way you want it to look. It dries pretty fast and then you can mount it on your card.
My card base is Marina Mist cut at 4 1/4" x 11 and scored at 5 1/2". Then I added a Whisper White layer and then my Polished Stone piece. Opps, first run it through the Northern Flury embossing folder. I added my Rhinestones and some Marini Mist 3/8" taffeta ribbon. The sentiment is from Peaceful Season, level 2 hostess set in the Mini, (page 5) and stamped in Marina Mist on Whisper White cardstock and mounted on a piece of Marina Mist card stock.
I think we will be making one of these cards in my next Stamp-a-stack on Saturday.

Cards for my Stationary Box

These are the cards we made to go inside our box. They all use the Day of Gratitude stamp set (page 12 of the Holiday Mini) & the Rock & Roll Technique, (ink stamp in lightest color and roll the edges in a darker color) & Autumn Spice dsp, (page 13 of the mini).
This first card base is Cajun Craze and cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". We took a 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of the dsp and use the Scallop Trim Border, (page 200 of the big catalog) along the top. Before adhering this piece down to the card I took a piece of fabric about 1/2" wide and pleated it just below the punched edge. I was in JoAnn's and saw this fabric and it reminded me of the Autumn Spice dsp. In the center I added a button with a Linen Thread bow. Used Cajun Craze, Old Olive & More Mustard to color in the flower stamp and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch, (Page 202), this was layered on the new Decorative Label punch, (page 25 of the mini) & then stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze directly on the card.
Card base on this card is Old Olive and cut at, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". With a piece of Very Vanilla cut at 3" x 4" I randomly stamped the leaf using the rock n roll technique, and then stamped the acorns in Early Espresso. I used the Cutter kit, with the distressing tool, (page 199) to rough up the edges and sponged in Early Espresso. Took some Linen Thread and wrapped around twice and tied in a knot added the Thank you punched out with the Window Word punch, (page 203) and attached with a Vintage Safety Pin, (page 187) and a button. Stamped another leaf and cut out and attached it to the side with the Owl Punch, (page 201) sitting on the leaf.
Third card has an Early Expresso base cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". Added a 2" piece of dsp to the right side of the card and an Old Olive rick rack cut out with the new Tasteful Trim die, (page 17 of the mini). Stamped the Thank you, on Vanilla and punched out with the Small Oval punch and layered on the Medium Oval punch, (page 202). The three flowers were stamped with the Rock n Roll technique and punched out with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, (page 202). These had dimensionals on the back & put vertically on the card.
My last card has a base of More Mustard cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". Added a 1" strip of dsp and the rick rack from the Tasteful Trim die on each side. The large medallion I stamped in Old Olive and Cajun Craze, cut this out and with dimensionals added to the card. Stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze and punched out with the Decorative Label punch. Added some dimensionals and put that at the bottom right side.
So that is all the cards we put in our Stationary Box.

Stationary Boxes

My Club Gals met last night and we made these Stationery Boxes and 4 cards to go inside using the Autumn Spice dsp in the Holiday Mini. Special thanks to Kimberley Morris for this pattern. I just looked on Kimberley's blog and now I don't see the tutorial she did. I printed these instructions a couple of months ago.
Notice that we used the Tasteful Trim die (page 17 of the Holiday Mini) to go around the center of each of the boxes.
1st box was made by Fran. I love the double flower and antique brad for the center. You can see how we made the flowers here.
Next is Kellie's box. Another double flower, love it!
This one is done by Pamm, double flower with a button. Love it. My box was made with this same paper.
And last but not least, Debbie's box. She decided she didn't want a double flower. Love it!
Tomorrow I will post the cards we made to go inside of our boxes.

Candle Gift Set & Card

My downline made this cute box with stamped candles and a card to match at our meeting last Saturday.
You can view the details for the card here.
The candles and box are from Carla Brasher. She has a GREAT tutorial on how to make the box and how to stamp on candles. So simple, but really a WOW! I used the level 2 hostess set (in the mini, page 5) that we got for FREE at convention, and the ornament is from the Tags til Christmas, (page 24 of the Holiday Mini), as well as the Always Artichoke 1/2" seam binding, (page 21). These buttons are to die for, they are also in the mini on page 17. They are huge and great for the center of this bow.
You can see the candles better here.
Thanks Carla for such a wonderful gift idea!

Downline Swap Cards!

I had my first downline meeting on Saturday. We did a mini swap and here are our cards.
This first one is done by Mary. She made a full card using Herb Expressions. She even decorated the inside, so cute!
Then she made us all book marks as well.
The next card was done by Carol. Love how she embossed the image and the way she layered the ribbon.
This next card was done by Alyse, who is a friend of Carol's (& not part of my downline, but think she would make a fabulous demonstrator!,). She used the Fang-tastic stamp set and made her card a candy corn, so clever.
I just realized I didn't show my card. Will have to wait until tomorrow........Thanks ladies!
