Don't forget the $99 Starter kit ends today, (July 31st). This is an awesome special. You can get all the details here.
Sorry I have been MIA. Our grandkids stayed with us while my daughter and SIL went away for a few days.
Then, our dog, Cassie has been having grand maul seizures (not sure of the spelling). We've been dealing with this for many months, but this time she was seizing almost every hour. We tried several different anti seizure meds and nothing worked long term. She even spent the night in emergency Friday. We brought her home and the seizures just got longer and closer together. So, we decided that we had to say good-bye to her. She was only 6 years old this month. Our house is so quiet with her gone. Our other cocker, Jeremy is older, he is a bit lost without her. Cassie was his partner in crime......

As I was getting ready to leave for convention, my daughter asks me to make a "diaper" cake for a friend of hers who was having a baby shower. She brought over all the stuff and I said I would work on it that evening and she could help me finish. Once I got started, I decided to just finish it, so I could work on my convention stuff. It didn't take me long and I thought the new pennant die would work perfect. Her colors were purple and turquoise. Wisteria Wonder & Pool Party were almost a perfect match!
I used the Alphabet Simple Letter dies to cut out the letters and embossed them with the new Stripes embossing folder. Embossed the pennants with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and then sponged everything. Strung the pennants with White Bakers Twine. The ribbon is from the "M" store. I didn't have anything wide enough to cover up the rubber bands that are used to roll up the diapers.
Of course we had to have a card to go with the diaper cake.
Here is what I used:
Stamps: Pennant Parade
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Subtles Collection, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder
Punches: Petite Pennants Builder, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Window Word
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots
Other: Subtles Brads, White Bakers Twine.
My daughter said , it was the hit of the party! They are fun to make, just not when you are getting ready for convention..........

I love how Stampin' Up! used wood embroidery hoops to make these cute "frames". It looks like they painted them black, put muslim in the hoop and added a layer of Timeless Portrait dsp that I bet was cut out using the Circle Scissor Plus. Then they added their photo with some embellishments. Love this idea. They had all kinds of items hanging in this tree. You can also see how they put together 3 of the candy wrapper die and hung it from the tree.
I didn't think I "needed" this dsp........what was I thinking? Of course I "need" it.
Check out this wreath, made with the matching fabric. Did you know we have & fabric bundles now? See page 196.

I'm finally back to posting after being at convention last week. What a week! Stampin' Up! really spoils us. Here are a few photos of some of the displays they did for us in the Gathering Place. You can click on each photo to see it bigger. Then you can really see all the detail they put into each display.
SU took a wood ladder and decorated it with card stock circles and cards.
Here they used Berry Blossoms dsp and those wonderful new In Color Brads, page 199. You have to see all the detail in these flowers, click on the photo.
Next, an ironing board. They wrapped those spools with Domestic Goddess dsp. Used the pennants from the Perfect Pennants die to make the banner.
And this one, they used an old bicycle for part of their display, complete with popcorn boxes in the basket. SU even wove dsp through the wheels. More pennants......

While cruising down the isles at Staples, I saw these pencil boxes and thought they would be perfect to put our snail, paper snips & bone folder. So, of course, I couldn't just buy one for me. I bought them for our group at convention and added their names with Decor Elements sheets and the GoGo Boots die. Yes, I know its retired, but it was the only die I had that would work.

These are my roommate gifts for convention this year. I purchased the tins from the Bulk Buy Group, Seaside Crafts. Then Stampin' Up! has this new stamp set called, "It's a Wrap Occasions". I stamped on labels and stuck them onto my nuggets. These nuggets would make perfect favors for weddings, showers, and more.
I made a belly band using the Flirtatious dsp. In this package you get two sheets of the "doilies". One sheet is Melon Mambo, and the other is Pumpkin Pie. They are both white on the back side. You just cut one away from the others. So cute! And doilies are the "hot" new item this year. I added a tag using the Two Tags die. Super easy!
This one is the Pretty in Pink with Melon Mambo for Paula.

So, all last week I was getting ready for my trip to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up's! convention. I leave tomorrow morning. I can't wait! So much fun! Stampin' Up! makes 3 days of non stop activities. We learn new stamping techniques, new ideas, business tips and did I mention swapping with about 3,000 other demos? Now I won't be taking 3,000 swaps, but I will be taking about 100. Here are a few Peppermint Patty flowers that I've made.
I LOVE this stamp, Triple Treat Flower. This is one stamp. You stamp 3 times and punch out with the Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower & 1/2" Circle Punches. I used all of our "new" In Colors, Calypso Coral, Island Indio, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder. Each layer is on a dimensional. The back is a solid piece of card stock. I glued them onto a Peppermint Patty with hot glue since I will be traveling with them, I don't want them to come apart.
Most of these are spoken for.....but I do have a few to swap. If I have time, I might make a few more.........

Yesterday, my Stamp Club made this Cupcake Throne! Isn't it the cutest? You can find the recipe on Jan Tink's Blog. The girl's loved making this and have already some new ideas for it. Like, use a muffin instead of a cupcake and use the stamp set Morning Cup that has the coffee pot, tea pot, & cups.
Here is what I used:
Stamps: Pennant Parade & Perfect Words, Hostess set
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Just Add Cake dsp, So Safron, Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze
Punches: Petite Pennants Builder, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Itty Bitty Shapes, 2 1/2" Circle
Other: Baker's Twine, Rhinestones

As I was trying to design one of my swaps for convention, I decided to try 3 different color combos.
This was my first one, totally predicable! I love these colors together, but maybe not as flowers, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze & Soft Suede. I like it, but, Yeah, NO!
Third one, while way out of my box, its the one I chose after poling several people. This one uses, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder & Lucky Limeade.
Stamps: Posy Punch, hostess set
Ink: Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder & Lucky Limeade
Punches: Fancy Flower, 3/4" & 1" Circle & Lace Ribbon Border Punch (love this one)
Other: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, White Baker's Twine, Basic Pearls
I just realized I changed a couple of things on this card. The Calypso Coral flower I changed the center of the flower to Lucky Limeade. Also changed the Hello to Lucky Limeade. And I left off the button on the Lucky Limeade flower, it was too bulky for a swap.
This is a fun stamp set, with no cutting, all punches. Even though I love to cut, not when I'm making 50 of the same card.
