Occasions Mini Catalog Ends Today, April 30th

Today is the last day to order from the Occasions mini catalog and also the Summer Smooches Sneak Peak.  The Fabric Brads are sold out and no longer available. The stencil is only available this month. Everything except the Brads & Stencil will be available again when the new catalog comes out June 1st.

I have a quick post today as I have my, Be a Big Shot Class this morning and then my Fabulous Folds Class this afternoon.

Be a Big Shot Class

These are the projects we will be doing in my, Be a Big Shot Class on Saturday & Monday. I still have room on both days if you are in the area and would like to come. More Stamp-a-stack Cards

This card was cased from Robin Merriman. I just used Happiest Birthday Wishes, Hostess stamp set. This card uses the Summer Smooches Stencil that is only available until April 30th. I sponged with Crumb Cake, so easy. The Summer Smooches dsp and Daffodil Delight Seam Binding ribbon is only available until April 30th, and then not again until June 1st when the new catalog comes out. 

This card also uses the Summer Smooches dsp, brads, (brads are sold out, and no longer available, so sad). I used the Party This Way stamp set. Seems I'm loving these flags, used them on several cards.

Retiring Accessories Now Available

A few things that you should know;
Stampin' Up! is changing their ink pads, which is why they are all on the retired list.  We will no longer be carrying the craft ink pads (only in black and white) and the classic pads will be replaced with a new "firm foam pad" for a better stamping experience.  More news to come on these exciting new pads!

April's Stamp-a-Stack

This past week-end was my April SAS. Here are a couple of the cards we did. Both of these cards were cased. The darling baby cards were cased from Kelly at A Stamp Above. I haven't made any baby cards in quite a while. My second card I cased from my friend Mary Brown. You can see her card here.

Marina Mist for the Boys & Pretty in Pink for the girls.
The card base is: 4" x 11" scored in half.
The drawers are 1" x 3 3/4 you need three.
The piece on the top of the dresser is 1/2" x 4 1/4". Don't forget to sponge, it really makes a difference. The pink card has the flowers with the pearl inside. The boy card has the mini brads. The top drawer is popped up with dimensionals so it looks like its open with the toys coming out.
The decorative Label Punch is used for the bottom of the dresser.

This card uses the Lucky Limeade from the In Color paper pack. Using the Blossom punch we punched one flower with the Blushing Bride and the other is from the Blossom Builders in the Occasion Mini. I later added a large pearl in the center. The thank you is from the Thank you Kindly stamp set. I'm sad this is retiring.......

Going, Going, Gone!

Clothes Pin & Flower Pin Class

This was a class I had last week-end. Everyone did 3 Clothes Pins and 1 Flower Pin.

I painted this clothes pin (12") with Chalkboard Paint and added the tea cup hooks to the bottom.

These clothes pins are 6" & 9". (That's my granddaughter, Gianna).

Here is another version of my flower pin. This one has a paper middle instead of the fabric ones I did for Leadership.

All of these items were made with the Summer Smooches dsp (the flower pin also uses the First Edition dsp). I will be posting a tutorial on how we made the card stock flowers. You will be amazed on how easy they are to make. We used Tombow Glue (the green bottle) to adhere the dsp to the clothes pins.

The bird is our Elegant Bird Die in the Occasions Mini, (#125593). We cut out the bird using the On Board Sheets, (#114320) cut out our dsp and then using a glue stick, glued the dsp to the chipboard. Then added the ribbon and Pearls.

New Swing Set

This post isn't stamp related, but wanted to share the new play set we put up for our grandkids. We celebrated Easter this past week-end and the kids were so surprised when they came over and saw what was in our side yard now. This whole area had 3 raised beds for our garden. We took those out, added 10 yards of tanbark and put up the play set. We will be putting our garden in 4 wine barrels. This week-end we will be planting our garden and I will share photos. It will be so much easier and less work. This whole area was full of weeds. It took me two days to weed. My whole body was sore, but so worth it to see the look of our grandkids when they saw the swing set.

Cool Scalloped Purse Flap

Here is another purse, but you can see I've added the scallops to the flap. I've used Cheerful Treat dsp, which is a hostess item. Thanks to Barb Mullikin for the scallop flap. I took it a bit further.

Here is a close up of the flap.

Take a piece of c/s or dsp and cut it just under 2". Slide it inside the punch like you would normally do.

Then using your Pokey tool (technical name)pull up your card stock.

Now pull it out even more. It will be easier now.

And punch. Now you can add this piece to your purse or go a step further. Ok, two steps further......

This is what you get. Pretty cool, isn't it?

Now add a sticky note as a holder to the scallops and using the Large Oval Punch, punch.

This is what you end up with. Using the Two way glue pen, glue to your flap. So pretty, don't you think?
