Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die Meets Heart Framelits Die

Today I'm showing you the card that Patty Bennett designed for Lisa and I to make for our get together this week. I never thought to use the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and then die cut, that piece with the Hearts clever! And do you see the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum over the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack? Is that a GREAT idea or what?

Patty had the Real Red Hexagon Hive already cut out for us so we glued that to a piece of copy paper, then glued the other dsp pieces down.

Then we die cut the Heart with the Heart Framelits and glued that piece to the Vellum layer. Also when you adhere the vellum you want to place your adhesive so it won't be seen. So I added a couple of strips of snail under where the heart was going. Make sense? Then we finished off the card with the Just Sayin', love ya, that was die cut with the matching Word Bubbles Framelits. If you purchase the bundle you can save 15%.....(just sayin' pun intended....).

Watercolor Salt Techique Card

I had NOT used the Ampersand Embossing Folder yet, so that was my challenge to make a card using it. What better time to make a card using the Watercolor Salt Technique (at least that's what I'm calling it). This is a fun technique to do.
This is my card that I designed for our get together with Patty Bennett and Lisa Rhine. Here is a mini tutorial. Its easy, go ahead and give it a try!

For this one I used Pear Pizzazz re-inker and embossed with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder.

You can see the embossed area a little better in this photo.

For this card I used the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that you can get for FREE until March 31st. You can check out all of the other items you can get for FREE HERE!

Good as Gold Card Kit

Have you seen this Good as Gold Card Kit from Stampin' Up!? OMG!! (Sorry for the blurry photo.) You get everything you need to make 8 cards (except adhesive).
8 printed card bases
8 envelope liners and envelopes
1 sheet Gold Foil Tags
1 sheet printed die-cut tags
8 pieces Gold Elastic Cord
8 pieces Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine

Here is the card and the envelope with the Gold Liner.

I have a "Tip" for you: The Gold liners fit the entire envelope, so why waste all that beautiful Gold paper? I cut off a couple of inches and I am using it on another card.

These cards have Basic Black, Pistachio Pudding, Bermuda Bay and Sahara Sand in them, which makes it great if you want to "Step up" your card a bit.

Ok, so Patty Bennett, Lisa Rhine and I got together this week and we each designed and brought a card for each of us to make. This is the card that Lisa designed.
See the bottom of the card? She cut the card in half from the kit and added a Whisper White piece embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder to the top.  So now instead of getting 8 cards you can make 16 cards. Genius, I know.......Do you know the best part? You can get this card kit, the Banner Punch  and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder for FREE! Yes, you heard me right. With every $50 you spend you can pick any of the 11 items in the Sale-a-bration Catalog for FREE (before shipping and tax).

I love the "stepped up" version! Thank you Lisa!
