Spotlight Die Cutting Video

This is a really cool technique, and the Big On You stamp set is the perfect set to use.
Stamp your image on Whisper White cardstock and then on the colored cardstock, in this case, Bermuda Bay. Using your Framelits, die cut the balloons, add dimensionals to the back and line up with the Whisper White image. Check out my video below.
This card I used Hello Honey for the base and the die cut.
Lost Lagoon for the base on the I think You're Pretty Swell.

Real Red cardstock. The Mini Treat Bag Framelits comes with 12 dies, hearts is just one of them. This is my favorite. What is yours?

Clear Block Cleaning 101

Do you struggle on how to clean your Clear Blocks? Stamps keep falling off? Well I have a awesome tip for you today.

I just recently started using Hand Sanitizer and a paper towel, now my blocks look better than they have in a while and my clear stamps are sticking better. I tried Dawn soap and water, rubbing alcohol and my blocks were getting clean but still didn't look good. It seems the hand sanitizer polishes the block as well as cleans them. I used the generic brand from Target, but I'm betting any brand will work. I find that I am cleaning them more often because its so easy. No water, or mess, just a paper towel and the sanitizer. As they say, "a dab will do you".  I think I am dating myself now......wasn't that saying from a hair product for men?

One other tip: If your clear stamps are still not sticking to your blocks, you can clean the label side of your stamp with the sanitizer too.

Here are this weeks Weekly Deals, good through May 4th. (How can it be May already?)

Kayla's Wedding Shower

Last month I went to a beautiful bridal shower. When you walked into the house, all the tables were beautifully set with flowers and the chairs had white covers with teal bows. I thought I was looking at a Better Homes and Garden Magazine. We've known Kayla since she was a little girl, now she is getting married in June. Couldn't be happier for her and Chris.

Kayla's colors are Teal and light pink, so in Stampin' Up! Colors, Island Indigo and Pink Pirouette. So I embossed the flowers from For the New Two Stamp Set with Silver Embossing Powder all around the card. The Hearts are retired (sorry), then stamped the sentiment with Island Indigo Ink. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest. I love how our Builder Bow works great for the groom. The BIG Pearls are from the Artisan Kit. Then I layered that onto a piece of Pink Pirouette.

I took one of our Extra large Gift Boxes and covered with the Irresistible Specialty Paper from Sale-a-bration (you can still get a package of this paper if you order the Butterfly Framelits). I used the sheet that has the small flowers and sponged Pink Pirouette ink for all the pieces. I just realized that I didn't take a photo of the whole box, darn it.......I tied the box with the 1 1/4" Blushing Bride Stripped Ribbon. Then I cut a tag from the Party Pennants (on the retirement list) die and stamped it with the flowers from the For New Two Stamp set. The initials are from the Sophisticated Serifs stamp set, (love these letters, so easy to line up because they are Photopolymer).

Finished the tag off with some Thick Baker's Twine I had left over from a kit and some Bermuda Bay Sequins. You are probably wondering what was in the box........

Note Cards. Did you know that Stampin' Up! sells Note Cards? You get 20 cards (that are scored) with envelopes. They are 5 1/8" x 3 5/8", a little smaller than a regular size card. I did use my Blendabilities to color the flowers. Easy Peasy!
This was a little extra gift for Kayla. Everyone needs Thank You cards, and how nice to have some that are monogrammed.

Here is a list of all the items I used to make Kayla's gift. You can click on any of the thumbnail photos and it will take you to my Online Store. Purchase any time 24/7.
Please use Hostess Code: JD4ZFJXF, unless your order is over $150, then you keep the hostess benefits.

Note: Party Pennants Bigz Die, (on sale 40% off, $19.77) Large Gift Boxes (on sale for $1.98,) are both on the retirement list. While supplies last.

Cased Card from Stampin' Success, Card #2

So, if you read my post from the 19th you already know what a "cased" card is and what Stampin' Success is. If you click on the cased card it will take you to that  post.

This card is 3" x 6" (finished) and uses the Fabulous 4 Stamp Set and the Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper (dsp for short). I know you're thinking, isn't that paper for "babies"? Since that's what the name implies.......well not for this card. Take a look.

My card is on the right, the left side is the card from Stampin' Success. I pretty much kept this one the same. Same stamp set, same package of Designer Series Paper, but.........I just used different pieces from the same package of paper and used Hello Honey Ink instead of the Lost Lagoon ink. Oh, I used the Gold Baker's Twine instead of Silver Baker's Twine.
I cut each strip, 3/4" and laid them at an angle on a piece of Whisper White, 2 2/4" x 5 3/4' and cut off the long pieces with my paper cutter. Make sure you add your Gold Baker's Twine BEFORE you adhere to the Sahara Sand base. The sentiment was really easy to stamp at the top.

So how did I do for this one? Why don't you "case" a card and comment below. How did you do on your "case"? Email me with photos, I might put them on my blog (with your permission of course!). Cindee@pacbell.net. Heck there might even be some "blog candy".

Here is what I used for my card:

Decorative Masks, 4 Different Cards

I'm going to show you a different way to use your Decorative Masks using your markers.
I decided that I would make a different card for each of the Decorative Masks.

Here is all 4 cards.

1. Star Mask using the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and the Stars Framelits. Island Indigo and Coastal Cabana for the card base.

2. Stripes Mask using the Perfect Blend Stamp Set. Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding card bases.
3. Dots Mask Using Big on You and the Balloon Bash Stamp Sets. Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloup and Basic Black card bases.

4. Hearts Mask using the Hello Life Stamp Set, Hearts Border Punch and the hearts from the Mini Treat Bag. Whisper White and Strawberry Slush card base.

You may have noticed another pattern here........I used all the In Colors that will be retiring soon, and they all have the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers on them.

For all the masks I traced each of the hearts, dots, stripes or stars then scribbled inside of each shape. Tip: Make sure you scribble all in the same direction for each shape. Otherwise it looks funny........

Now you can check out my video! I'll show you how I made the Stars Card.

Here is a list of the items I used to make all of the cards above:

Cased Cards From Stampin' Success

Every other month we (Demonstrators) get a magazine that is just for us from Stampin' Up!. Inside each magazine we learn new techniques, samples to case, recognition, and more. What is "Cased"? Copy and Share everything.
I have not done this in a long time. So I challenged myself to "case" something from Stampin' Success. I've got 2 samples, one today and one tomorrow, to share with you.

The card from Stampin' Success is on the right. My card is on the left. I used the same colors, but a different stamp set and made a few other changes, but the card has basically the same elements.  Do you think I pulled it off?

I used Mother's Love for the stamp set. Changed the ribbon on the side to the White Jute Ribbon, and used the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine for the top of the tag.
The Ornate Tag is attached with dimensionals.

I don't know why I waited so long to get this stamp set. It is one of my most favorite sets now. I hope it carries over into the new catalog. This is a two step stamp. Stamp the image and then stamp the color for the flowers and leaves. Since the flowers and leaves are on the same stamp, I used my markers to color the stamps with Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is from Painted Blooms. I used the large block, I to stamp both the flower image and the sentiment at once, then went back and added the color. This really was a 10 minute card.

Top 2 In Sales, Chalkboard Sign

I've seen these sign cards all over Pinterest and thought this is the perfect card to celebrate the Top 2 in Sales for my team Cincraft Stampers.

Kellie is 1st
Carol 2nd

Kellie and Carol each got one of these cards and a package of Cut and Ready Card Bases. Great job ladies!

The cards are really pretty simple. Start with a Crumb Cake base of 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2". These cards remind me of the signs you see before you go into a store. Maybe they have the specials listed, or a Come In on them.
See how I did the card front? Easy peasy!

The Chalkboard Paper is 2 3/4" x 3 1/4", the Crisp Cantaloupe (or Strawberry Slush) is cut at, 3" x 3 1/2". I embossed the words and flowers with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder. I wasn't going to emboss it and then decided to.  Then I went back and smudged some white ink. Its hard to tell in the photo. Wanted it to look like a real chalkboard.

The flowers are from the Artisan Embellishment Kit, (which is not available to order right now).

This one is Strawberry Slush .

Then I loved how the others turned out, so I made a couple more, but changed them up just a bit.
For this one I used a Calypso Coral mat and flowers. For the Flowers I used the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (used the small flower), and added a Pearl in the middle that is colored with the Bermuda Bay Blendabilities. I added some Linen Thread at the top. I love the Because You Care Hostess stamp set, (in the Occasions Catalog).

And here is a Island Indigo version. Same as above.
