Time for another Stampin' Up! Only Challenge. Edited to add: you can play along too. Check it outHERE!
When I saw these Witches Hats on Janet Baker's blog, I knew I had to make them. It worked out perfect for this challenge on "punches". You can view Janet's video HERE! I also knew I wanted to make some sort of "Candy Corn" punch art. Here is how I did the Candy Corn:
Who knew you could use the Tree Punch for Halloween! The tin I found in the $1 section of Target. They came in black and orange. The candy is from Winco (local grocery store), in the bulk section. When I saw this candy, I knew it would be perfect for these 1 x 8 cello bags and Halloween. Of course I had to add a little bling to my candy corns, the BOO is perfect from Boo to You Framelits.
I have a special customer who placed several orders this past month. She is getting this card.
I started off using last years In Color's Washi tape on the large leaf. I started off with a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Whisper White. I added Washi Tape to cover the whole piece then ran it through my Big Shot with the Leaflets Framelits. I added the Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist leaves that I stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge dots. Then sponged around each leaf.
I added a Lots of Labels Whisper White die cut to the inside of the card with a strip of Washi Tape on the bottom and stamped a couple of leaves on the right side. I usually don't add any cardstock to the inside of my cards unless the cardstock is really dark, which this card uses Blackberry Bliss for the card base.
You can see the leaves up close here. I added one of the Home for Christmas buttons, with a Linen Thread bow. If you don't want to put the thread through the holes, use a rolled up glue dot and then add the bow.
This is another one we did in my Holiday Card Class. It is a case from Sara Douglas at Convention. I always forget you can stamp on Designer Paper. This would be a great card to make a lot of, simple, but very nice.
I used the Merry Moments 6" x 6" Paper Stack. When you cut the Designer paper to 4" x 5 1/4" you have a 3/4" piece left over (from the bottom). It works perfect for the inside of the card. Why waste it? Its probably one of those scraps you would have thrown out. Trees were stamped in Mossy Meadow, from the Wonderland Stamp Set.
I really love the sentiment. The Whisper White is cut, 1" x 4 1/4"and I used the Triple Banner Punch to make the flags. Did you notice that Cherry Cobbler dot? That is from the Home for Christmas Suite, Enamel Dots. Gives the card a final touch.
This is another card we made in my Card Class. This one is cased from Margret Knight. We used the Lighthearted Stamp set. Stamp each of the leaves with Early Espresso onto Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler. I sponged around the edges of each leaf.
I added a bow tied with Line Tread. Thanks Margret, GREAT card!
Here are the measurements:
5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Cajun Craze
4" x 5 1/4" Soft Suede
3 3/4" x 5" Very Vanilla
This is one of the cards we made in my Holiday Card Class. I cased this one from Jan Wakeland. The only thing I did different was I added another layer of houses in Hello Honey behind the Black Glimmer Paper houses, and offset them just a little bit. No stamping on this card. Good thing we have such GREAT Edgelits, and Thinlits dies.
We used the Sleigh Ride Edgelits for the houses and the Seasonal Frames Thinlits for the Spooky, and the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.
Let me give you the measurements for all the pieces:
2 1/2" of the Star Paper
1 3/4" x 5 1/4" Stripped Paper
2 1/2" x 5 1/4" Black Glimmer Paper
2" x 3" for the Hello Honey Cardstock

Yes, you read the title correctly. The Mini Treat Bag can be turned into a card. Can you believe, there is NO stamping on this card? Oh no!, Fear not, lots of die cut elements from the Treat Bag are filling in for our stamped images. The bag is made from our 2015-2017 In Color Envelope Paper. This paper works great for this bag. Cardstock is a little stiff, Designer Paper is thinner, so the envelope paper is just right!
I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at, 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" for the insert. You could stamp on this piece, but I left mine plain.
The Clothes Pin is covered with the Everyday Chic Washi Tape. I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and Gold Metallic Thread. The whole piece is just clipped on with the Clothes Pin.
This is the first card in my Card Class for this month. I don't know about you, but "man" cards are the hardest for me. I'm all about flowers, glimmer paper, etc. So I saw something similar to my card on Pinterest, and knew this would be perfect for my "man" card. I love Black and Cherry Cobbler together. You are probably wondering......what stamp set are those stamps from? Paper Pumpkin past kits. I know the Dude stamp is from April 2015 kit, but I didn't write the month for the HAPPY BIRTHDAY stamp.
I colored the White Perfect Accents black with a Sharpie Marker. Added just a little strip of the Black Glimmer Paper.
Here is how I cut the Cherry Cobbler piece. I started with the largest Deco Labels Framelits and cut off the circle on each side. Sanded it just a little as its hard to take the whole circle off. The Black piece is the next smallest of the Framelits and it covers most of it anyway. The Designer Paper is from the Go Wild 6" x 6" Paper pack.
This is the third card we made at Mary's house last month. We used the Jingle All The Way stamp set and coordinating Edgelits, Sleigh Ride. You can get these as a bundle and save 15%.
We did a "wash" for the sky. Using Night of Navy re-inker, add a drop to a clear block. Spritz your Shimmer Card base with water. Next take your aqua painter and squeeze some water out to dilute the re-inker. Then just wash over your Shimmery White cardstock trying to keep the dark at the top and go lighter as you go further down the card, using your Aqua Painter. Easy peasy! Stamp the stars and die cut the Sleigh, stamp the silent night. Put your layers together and you're done!
Tip: You can dry it with your heat tool. Make sure its dry before you put the layers together or they won't stick. I also used Fast Fuse Adhesive all the way around the edges. I usually don't use that much adhesive, but in this case, its necessary. The Shimmery White cardstock is a good substitute for Water Color Paper. Plus it has a nice shimmery shine to it.
This is one of the cards we made at Mary's last month. Fun bunch of gals gathering for a card class with me!
The sentiment is from the Sweet Hauntings (#139705, $19) I forgot to add that to my supply list. The sentiments in this stamp set coordinate with the Note Tag Punch. Instead of adding a hole to the top I stapled the Thick Vanilla Baker's Twine to the top and frayed it.
The card is cut, 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". I used 2 panels of the Happy Haunting Designer Series paper cut at 2 1/2" x 4". The Vanilla piece is cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I've got a strip of Washi Tape at the bottom and then half a Spider Doily. The BOO! is from the Boo to You Framelits. I used the new Black Glimmer paper.
Stay tuned, we have 2 more cards that we made at Mary's house last month.

Well, its already time for another Stampin' Up! Only Challenge. This challenge came at a perfect time. A friend of mines Mom fell and hurt herself. Luckily no broken bones, just bruises. Bobby is 94 years young and as sharp as a tack! I hope my card brightens her day!
I stamped the leaf in Early Espresso and using a Sponge Dauber, I added Island Indigo, Delightful Dijon and Mossy Meadow ink. Then I crumbled the leaf and added some Gold Metallic Thread to the back with some snail adhesive. I popped the leaf up with Dimensionals. The sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts, #131059, (forgot to add to my supply list.)
I loved this design so much, I decided to make some thank you cards too. The sentiment for these cards is from A Tin of Cards. I'm so grateful that I NEED thank you's! You guys are the BEST ordering from me. I'm aiming for the Incentive Trip this year. Wish me luck......
On one of the cards, I sponged Delightful Dijon around the Embossed Woodland Embossing Circle. Not sure if I like it or not. What do you think?
Thank you to Allison Okamitsu, I totally cased her. She is also on the Artisan team for Stampin' Up!
Do you have trouble lining up your stamped images to the punch? Check out my video. I'll show you how.
For today's card I started off with Crumb Cake base cut at 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2", then ran it through the Big Shot using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder. Added a piece of the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper cut at, 2" x 5 1/2", backed that with a piece of Old Olive cut at 2 1/4" x 5 1/2". The sentiment was die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits. (Score, already had those!).
For the ribbon I used White 1 1/4" Jute Ribbon. What I did was cut piece of the ribbon and trimmed off the long edge, just a little bit. Then pulled the fibers until I had several, and wrapped them around the Designer Series Paper and the Old Olive Cardstock. Stamped my acorns (just like the video).
This was another find on Pinterest and the 2nd card we did in my Card Class for this month. The leaf is from the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. Its kind of whimsical don't you think? I really love all the layering, but I seem to have a hard time doing it. This paper is from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper packet.
I love the Corrugated 2 1/2" Circle, it really adds texture to the card. The wood Thanks is from the Expressions Natural Elements. You get 3 words, Congrats, Thanks and Celebrate in each package.
The leaf is stamped with Mossy Meadow and sponged with Tangelo Twist, Delightful Dijon and Mossy Meadows. I sponged the Doily with Crumb Cake, just a little. Finished it off with a Gold Button and some Linen Thread. I added a little piece of the Striped Tangelo Twist Ribbon too. The Acorn is from Into the Woods Elements.
Yes, you read that right! Have you ever put two French Fry Boxes together to make a "Double French Fry Box"?
This is the project that I brought for our blog hop. Make sure you visit Patty Bennett's blog and Lisa Rhine's blog.
I used the Howl-o-ween Treat Stamp set with the matching Boo to You Framelits. And lets not forget the Spider Doily.
This is what the inside looks like. Perfect for 2 pieces of Ghiradelli Chocolates.
Then since we were putting chocolate inside our boxes, we needed this tag which is from the Sweet Hauntings stamp set.
Then we wrapped some Designer Paper around the chocolates and finished off with some Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine. One of the chocolates we added the BOO using the Black Glimmer Paper.
Here is a quick tutorial on how to put your boxes together.
1. After cutting two boxes, use a sticky note and punch out the Scalloped Edge Oval. Adhere to your boxes (you can punch both pieces at the same time.) and punch. This way you can make sure your punched oval is straight and in the middle. 2. Add the Designer Paper to the front of each box with Tombow Liquid Glue. 3. Glue both back sides of boxes together. You will want to pop out the bottom to glue. Then hold for a few seconds until the glue sets. 4. Trace each side panel. 5. Glue to sides of box. Then decorate as desired. This has been so much fun! Can't wait to get together with my stampin' friends again for another Mini Blog Hop!
