Create with Connie and Mary Time! CCM#387

Did you know that you can play along with these challenges? Check it out HERE!
This was such a fun challenge, plus I got to use some of my new goodies from the Occasions Catalog that goes live on the 5th. I know only 5 more days until you can order. Its totally worth the wait.

This was another one of those stamp sets that I didn't purchase on my first (did you catch that, first?) pre-order. Until I borrowed it from my friend, Patty Bennett. She seems to be my enabler these days.......

I used the Birthday Blooms Stamp set, and the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. My card base is Watermelon Melon, with another piece embossed with the Large Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I used my Banners Framelits to die cut my flags. Aren't these papers gorgeous? And this is just a small sample. People, you will NEED this stamp set and Designer Series Paper! Just sayin'........

You can see I stamped the flower on Whisper White Cardstock using my Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron markers then cut it out. I added the flower and leaves with dimensionals. Then stamped the flower and leaves again and punched out with the 1 1/2" Circle Punch. That is also mounted with dimensionals. What do you think of that sparkly new ribbon? You can find that on the same page as the stamp set and papers, page 9.

I am Totally Grateful

to all of you who read my blog! This stamp set really gets the way I feel this year. I really am grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you for all your comments this year too! Makes my day when you take the time in your busy life to comment on my blog.

This card went to my friend Patty Bennett. Why am I grateful for Patty? Because she always thinks of us (Patty is my upline), everyday. She gives us challenges to motivate us, gives us tips on how to run our Stampin' Up! business, helps in any way she can, shares so freely, and best of all, she calls me her "friend", as I do her. I am also grateful that Patty and I room together when we go to a Stampin' Up! event. Best roommate ever! I could go on and on, but you get what I am saying, right? So thank you Patty Bennett!

The Grateful Bunch Bundle has really become my favorite stamp set. With the exception of the large flower, I used the matching Blossom Punch to punch out the flowers. And do you see the "Wink of Stella" on each flower? I used the Clear one. I am really trying to do the layering thing (with stamps), so here I used the leaf stamp and those little dots are from the Timeless Textures stamp set. I stamp off before stamping on my card.

Don't you love the sparkle? and the Enamel Dots?

You can see the dimension on this view.

I have added my product list. You will be able to purchase these products on Jan. 5th. I know, only a few more days.

Out With the Old, In With the New!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. My family did and now its time to start showing some of the wonderful new products that are coming out in the Occasions Catalog on January 5th. I feel like I've been doing Christmas for 6 months, so having some new products to play with is just what I need.
This bundle of products is called, A Nice Cuppa stamp set and Cups and Kettle Framelits. Starting on January 5th you can get these items in a bundle and save 15%. I also used the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. Check it out on page 17, lots of cool items. The sentiment is from the Sky is the Limit Sale-a-bration item. For every $50 you spend (1-5-16 through 3-31-16) you can choose one item from the Sale-a-bration catalog. This set is for a limited time, so don't wait to get it.

The Happy Heart Embossing folder seemed like the perfect embossing folder for this card. I have to mention something that you are going to be seeing a LOT of. See all those gold dots? That is from the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. You can find it on page 24. We have Clear and Gold. I used the Gold one for my card. Think of these Glitter Brushes like glitter, but without the mess. They look very similar to our Aqua Painters. So its seems that now I can't make a card unless I use the Wink of Stella. Can't say I didn't warn you.......I have a whole lot to show you.

Have you received the Occasions and Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalogs yet? If not, and you don't already have a demo, email me and I would be happy to mail you one of each.

Eight more days until you can order from these Catalogs!

Merry Christmas!

I love when my customers send me cards. Antonietta Perez made this card. The shading is beyond beautiful. I believe this stamp set was in last years Holiday Catalog. Such a stunning card.

Thank you Antonietta!

Yesterday I came home to these beautiful gifts.

The tin has red polka dots (didn't get a side view).
And these WONDERFUL Chocolate cookies were inside. My son took a handful already. He told me that he would just eat cookies for dinner. (Silly boy, 31 years old). Thank you to Dawne McIntosh. They are truly the BEST cookies EVER! Hard to tell in the photo, but they are really BIG too.
Dawne also brought me this gift. I will have to wait until the 25th to open it. Its so pretty, I almost hate to open it.

Thank you ladies for thinking of me! Merry Christmas!

Homemade Vanilla

My daughter and I decided we were going to make Homemade Vanilla after seeing how easy it was on Pinterest. We thought this will make nice gifts for Christmas and won't cost a fortune........Well if you are just making for yourself, no big deal, but if you are making a bunch (12), the Madagascar Vanilla Beans and the cute bottles (which they have to be cute, right?) the price goes up.......But it was worth it!
We got all the info on how to make the Vanilla and what kind of Vanilla Beans you need HERE! We got the bottles HERE! Don't they look like syrup bottles?
There is also a link to print out the labels. I added some raffia to the top of the bottles. Looks cute and easy to take off when they are ready to use the vanilla. It takes 8-10 weeks for the vanilla to cure. The 21st was the 8 week point. So its pretty much ready to use.

This is how I wrapped them. I took a large piece of cellophane, added some paper shreds around the bottle and tied them up with the cute snowman ribbon from Costco. You can't really see what is inside the cellophane. I tried to wrap them with regular wrapping paper and it was just too thick, which is why I used cellophane. I just happened to have a couple of rolls of cellophane. I usually make up big cookie plates to pass out to friends and family and wrap up in the cellophane. This year I cut way back. I just did a few things. I purchased them last year and have no idea where I got them. For me, the packaging is almost more important than the gift......I know I'm weird, what can I say! I just realized I took the photo before I added the tags.

Do you make homemade goodies to give as gifts? I would love to hear and see what you do every year. Leave me a comment.

Cranberry Pumpkin Bread

I've had several people ask me for my bread recipe that was in this post, and because I am short on time I scanned the recipe. I have been making this bread since 1987. It was in December's Family Circle Magazine of that year. I hope you can read it. Click on the photo. The only thing I do differently is I buy dried cranberries. I put 1 cup cranberries in a 2 cup measuring container and add water until just covered and heat in microwave for a minute or two. Drain and add to the batter. So much easier than having to drag out my food processor and chop up the whole cranberries. I've been calling this bread, Pumpkin Cranberry Bread, its really Cranberry Pumpkin Bread........

And here are the Weekly Deals for this week!

Stampin' Up! Only, Happy New Year!

This weeks challenge is, Happy New Year cards or anything for a New Year's Eve or Day Celebration. You can play along too, click HERE!

I love all the gold in this card. I almost cased this from Pinterest. Ended up changing a few things. I'm so glad that the Softly Falling Embossing folder didn't retire with the Holiday Catalog. It works for so many different cards. I also love the Confetti Stars punched out of the Gold Glimmer Paper, and the beautiful Winter Wonderland Vellum. I Embossed the Tree from Festival of Trees in gold embossing powder and punched out with the Tree Punch. Remember, when using this Vellum to put your adhesive where another layer covers up the glue. So I added adhesive to the center of the Vellum because the Whisper White layer covers up the center of the Vellum. Make sense?
The sentiment is from the Six Sayings Hostess set. This set will only be available for a little over a week, then its gone.......I embossed the edges so it would stand out.

I know I used a lot of products on this card, but once I started pulling out everything "gold" I couldn't resist.........and here is a little secret; If you turn over the Winter Wonderland Vellum, it looks like the snowflakes are silver or white. How cool is that?

Now its your turn. Make up your card and post it HERE!       Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Snowman Tags!

Aren't these fun tags? I used the Ornate Tag Punch for the top and the 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" for the snowmen. The "to and from" are from the Oh, What Fun stamp set. Do you have trouble drawing the mouth like I do? I took the small oval punch and used that punch as my guide. Easy peasy, nice mouth now.

I put my tags on the Cranberry Pumpkin Bread I made. I made a bunch of mini loaves as gifts. The Snowman Ribbon is from Costco. Love how they turned out.

Black, White and Gold

What does that scream? Yep, new years cards. This is the Challenge for the Create with Connie and Mary #386. You can play along too.
http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/

Today I'm using one of the new Large Numbers Framelits (it also has a cool stamp set to match, Number of Years) sets in the Occasions Catalog that will be live on January 5, 2016. The sentiment is embossed with the Six Sayings Hostess set that will be retiring on the 4th. I also used the Timeless Textures stamp set and they were also embossed with Gold and Black Embossing Powder. This is an amazing stamp set with lots of different textures.

Its hard to see in the photo, but the spattering of ink is also a new product called Wink of Stella. Its like a Aqua Pen with gold ink (we also have a light silver one). What I did was get the ink in the barrel and tap against my hand to make a spattering. This is my NEW favorite toy! Finished it off with a few Gold Sequins.

The numbers are cut using Gold Glimmer Paper and there is a layer of Black Glimmer Paper on top of the card base. The card base is the Thick Whisper White cardstock, as well as the top of my card.

I don't usually send out New Years cards, so who am I going to send this to? Hmmmmm, leave me a comment and I might just ask for your snail mail address.

Weekly Deals and More!

Here is a fun little treat that doesn't take long to make.
I took one of our 4" x 6" Cello bags and cut 1 1/4" off the top, added my candy (of course my candy had to match my bag topper). Then die cut the largest Lots of Labels Framelits with the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and folded it in half. That makes your bag topper.

The Santa Hat is next.
Use Glue Dots to attach the Word Window Silver Glimmer Paper to each "Tree". When I punched my tree, I just didn't punch the trunk so I have a triangle, (make sense?). Add the 1/4" circle Glimmer piece with a glue dot to the top of the hat. Put 2 Glue Dots on each side of the Clothespin. Center the Clothespin on the back side of your hat and glue down. Make sure your Clothespin has the part you pinch on top. (Don't ask me why this is so important......yes, I have glued my Clothespins upside down.....). Add your Santa Hat to one side of your cello bag with the topper.

Stamp Jolly with Real Red from the Oh, What Fun Stamp Set, flag the end and add your Rhinestones. Attach with Dimensionals.

These little gifts are great for your co-workers, neighbors, teachers, etc.
