Vintage Scrapbook Page of my Granddaughter's!

A friend of my daughter's (hi Sarah) took this awesome photo of my granddaughters and new it would make a fabulous scrapbook page. I had been wanting to try out the element I have on the right side since I saw it at Leadership. I have a mini tutorial at the end. I started out with the photos and wanted to use the new Elegant Bird die in the Occasions mini. For some reason I just had this block trying to use this die, maybe its the wing. So I die cut the bird using the Attic Boutique dsp (also in the mini). I roughed up the edges with the Distressing tool on the Cutter Kit (page 208) and sponged (of course) with Soft Suede. I added the Crocheted lace to the bottom of the bird and then I took Baja Breeze & Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon and gathered it and started laying it on the wing. You can gather this ribbon by fraying the end and grabbing a middle thread and then just pull it. I used a mini glue dot to secure it. Then I added the pearls. Next came the heart. I die cut that using our new Hearts Collection Framelits die and added the embossed hearts with the Adorning Accents Embossing folder. Sponged with Soft Suede and added the Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon all the way around, More Pearls, Crumb Cake bow with the ends gathered up, a hat pin and then a button with Linen Thread through it tied in a bow. Then I Cut strips in different widths, and lengths of the Beau Chateau dsp & the First Edition dsp, sponged with Soft Suede and using a square punch made the pointed ends. Mounted the photo on Blushing Bride card stock, added it on top of the flags and then came my lacy element. I'll show you how I did it, just scroll down.
Here is a close up of the Bird on the Heart.
And then the lacy piece. I really love how this turned out. I think I'm over my whatever it was with the bird die.....
Here is what you need to make the lacy element on my scrapbook page:
Lace Ribbon Border Punch
1/2" or so piece of c/s for the center
Pearls
After you cut 2 strips using the Lace Ribbon Punch, fold them in half. Add some snail to your colored card stock and then lay your punched pieces down.
This is what you get.
You can see the Soft Suede card stock in the center. Then I just added some of the BIG Pearls to the center of each flower. Done!
So easy! This was another favorite of mine that I saw at Leadership.
