My Berry Baskets

A few weeks ago I saw on the Stampin' Up! blog where they used the Coaster Board to make these cute little Berry Baskets. I thought that's a great idea, because I want to put some African Violets inside each basket, but.......I didn't want to just see the Coaster Board. I wanted to use the Painted Booms Designer Series Paper. So what I did was cut the dsp and the coaster board down to 3 1/2" x 8 1/2". Remember you need 2 of each of the big pieces and 2 for the top of the basket. So I glued the dsp onto the coaster board BEFORE I die cut each piece. It was like a "light bulb" moment for me. This way is so much easier than trying to match everything up. I also cut the top of the baskets in coordinating cardstock. While I'm not showing you how to put the baskets together, I wanted to share with you all of the baskets I've made so far. These make great teacher gifts, Easter gifts, or just because!

This one I made for Patty Bennett. She was coming over to stamp with me, (I treasure our time together). I knew she would love my baskets since she has such a beautiful flower garden and loves flowers. Oranges and reds are her favorite colors.
So Tangelo Twist is what I used for her flower. I used the Bouquet Bigz Die and the Build a Bouquet stamp set to stamp each petal with the veins. Then I sponged each one. I used 5 of the smallest petals, and 5 of the next size up. It is perfect to go on the Berry Baskets. I finished off my baskets with a pick from the From the Garden stamp set and matching Framelits called Handpicked. You can get them both in a bundle and save 15%.
Its so funny, I bought the African Violets at Lowe's. Each time I went in to get a couple more they were more beautiful than the last. Patty Plant was really big. This one has ruffled edges. Love them. I put a plastic tray inside so the basket won't be ruined.
This one I used Rose Red Cardstock. The flowers were all put together with hot glue.

Blackberry Bliss is what I used for this flower. With the Daffodil Delight centers they look stunning, don't you think?
This one i used Daffodil Delight.
This one I used Rose Red again, but the dsp is different.

Edited to add: I forgot I used the Build A Bouquet stamp set for the veins on the petals and leaves. #137166, Clear Mount.

If you've made it this far, I am going to do a video, but ran out of coaster board.
I promise a video next week. Besides, I'm sure I will need more baskets by then.........
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
