Totally Trees for the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge

This was a card we did in my Card Class this month and works out perfect for this weeks challenge, Circles, Ovals or Squares. You can play along too by going to: http://suochallenges.com/

I've been wanting to do a Palm Tree with this set and finally got it done. Good thing, since this set in on the "hit" list (aka retirement list). So get it while you can! I used the Seaside Embossing Folder for my background in Pool Party cardstock and then cut into 3 strips and adhered to the card base. Each strip is 1 1/4" x 5 1/4".

Usually we stamp first then die cut, but in this case, I die cut the Oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then stamped. The sentiment is from Suite Sayings and I used the Triple Banner Punch to make the flag end. The "ribbon" is 4 strands from the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon. You just pull the strands from the ribbon. I wrapped it around the card and into a bow. Much more manageable than the thick burlap ribbon.

Cutting Guide:

Scraps of Thick Whisper White for the oval and sentiment
