High Tide Lighthouse Card

Patty and I were at it again! Last week we got together and this is one of the cards we stamped. This was yet another stamp set I DIDN'T need........yeah right! LOL! Of course I need it now......

We started off with a large piece of Watercolor Paper. Big enough for Clear Block E to fit on with some room on all four sides. Then you can cut it down to the size you want. Mine ended up being 3 5/8" x 4 5/8". This project takes a lot of different Ink Pads.
Start with:
Daffodil Delight and ink the whole block, just smoosh it on the entire block
Flirty Flamingo
Sweet Sugarplum
Watermelon Wonder
Bermuda Bay just on the bottom about a 1/4 of the way up
Each time you add another color you put the color right over the last color
Then spritz it several times and lay onto your Watercolor paper. Let it soak in for a few seconds and carefully lift. If you have any ink that is pooled you can soak up with a paper towel or old cloth.
Once your Watercolor Paper is dry you can stamp on it. Use your Heat Tool if you are in a hurry.

After you cut your Watercolor Paper to have equal borders on each side you will want to mask off the bottom like shown. Stamp the "water" with Dapper Denim. Depending on how much "water" you want, you might have to stamp a couple of times. Don't forget to Wink your water with the Clear Wink of Stella.

Stamp your lighthouse on a piece of scrap Watercolor Paper in Smoky Slate. Stamp the sand in Crumb Cake and add some grass with Soft Suede. Fussy cut. Color with Daffodil Delight as shown in the photo. Stamp the birds with Dapper Denim.

 

I forgot to take a photo of the light rays. Patty was so clever she die cut the Sunburst Thinlit out of Vellum. Cut 2 "rays", colored them with a sponge and Daffodil Delight Ink, attached to the Watercolor Paper with a glue dot and wrapped around the Watercolor Paper. Make sense? Then adhered the lighthouse with dimensionals. Patty shows this on her POST. We added some grass from the Basket Builder Framelits, sponged with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake Ink.

The card base is Crumb Cake with a layer of the Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper. Then the Watercolor piece was attached with dimensionals.

Here is a mini tutorial for how to use a square die and make it into a rectangle. The sentiment was attached with dimensionals as well.

4 1/4" x 11" Crumb Cake Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2"

1 Sheet of Watercolor Paper (you won't use the whole thing)
