Summer Smooches Wreath

Sale-a-bration ends tonight (Saturday, March 31st). So, now on to some new things. I've been wanting to make these "Fabric Rose Flowers" for a while now. So I went and looked at a bunch of You Tube videos on how to make them. I cut a piece of 2" x 23" piece of fabric and practiced & practiced. But for what ever reason, it wasn't working. Then, when I stopped thinking about it so hard, it finally worked. Yipeee! I did this while I was watching TV last night. So this morning I went to make the flowers for my wreath.......I was back to "not working".......What?? So, after a little more practice it came back to me. I think all the flowers are a bit different. But in nature the flowers don't all look the same, right??? I think, I'll stick with that!
So now, on to my wreath, what do you think? This is our new "Summer Smooches" fabric. You will be able to purchase this along with some other "Summer Smooches" items, dsp, ribbon, fabric brads, and a stencil. These items will be in our new Big Catalog coming out June 1st, but Stampin' Up! is giving you a preview and you can order them in April. How cool is that? Ok, back to the wreath, I'm so easily sidetracked.....I actually made the grape vine wreath a long time ago, when I was taking a floral design class. I had put it away and new it would be perfect for my fabric roses. The red & white Tulle was left over from my daughters wedding 7 years ago, April 2nd. I thought my roses needed some leaves, what to do, what to do.....The one thing I can cut free hand is leaves, perfect. Out comes my Lucky Limeade card stock, I cut a bunch of leaves in different sizes, sponge them (of course) and bingo!
Here is a close up of my flowers.
More close ups.
My husband said, why don't you make the center a different fabric. Hmmmmm, great idea honey!
I used up one whole package of fabric, with just a little strip left over. I did use a WHOLE lot of hot glue, no sewing for my roses. So now my porch has a brand new wreath, ready for spring.
