Patty Bennett, leader of our Luv2stamp group asked a couple of us to do make n takes for our meeting on Saturday. She wanted me to do something with the Hamburger box which is in the new catalog. I have to say, I didn't like the box at first, but......I needed to figure it out for our meeting. Once you figure it out, its a great little box. My plan was to do a video on how I put the box together, but remember, my day just didn't go as planned. So for now, I will show you the project and give you a couple of tips on how to put it together.
Okay, here are a couple of tips:
1. Make sure you use the Crease pad (and I needed a shim as well) when cutting out the box. If you take a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock and cut it down to 5 1/2" x 11, that will cut out the box. There are also 2 tags, so with the left over piece 3" x 11", cut that in half and you have plenty to cut the tags.
2. Make sure you fold on all the score lines. I found if you started folding at the top (where the slits are) and work your way down, it seemed easier to me. Then use hot glue to glue each corner. I started at the opposite side (bottom of box) and did each corner. I also cut off the two tabs in front. The belly band will keep the box closed.
You will feel like you're all "thumbs", but it gets easier after you've done a few of the boxes.
The belly band is a piece of Blackberry Bliss cut at 1 1/2" x 11". I didn't score it, I laid it over the edges and hand creased it. I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a brand new stamp set called, Work of Art. I love this set. The ribbon is also new. June 2nd you can order all of these products. I hope to have a video and show you how I put the box together. Be patient with me........you know videos aren't my favorite thing to do........
