Ever since I made my wreath with Medallions I just can't seem to stop. So one night when I was having trouble sleeping (which is normal for me), I got to thinking about another idea. I know this isn't a new idea, but using the Medallions in this banner is new to me.
My Cherry Cobbler medallions are 2 1/2" x 11 and you need 3 pieces (because they are so large). The Letters To Santa dsp is cut at, 1 3/4" x 12 and you need 2 pieces per medallion. I scored every 1/2" using my Simply Scored board (If you don't have one of these, you really, really need one). Before I did the folding, I used the scallop edge punch.
TIP: I think the key for having your medallions stick to anything is that you need to add a circle punch of some kind to the back, glued with hot glue. I always use hot glue, it just seems to work better for me. So that way when you glue the medallions to the ribbon, there is more surface to glue. Make sense?
I used the Bigz Alphabet Simple Letters for the "joy". Added some of the 1/2" Old Olive Scallop Dots Ribbon to each letter. I just tied a knot and hot glued it to the letters, less bulk and hot glued the letters to the medallions. I found the plastic ring in my sewing stuff for the ring at the top and just wrapped the ribbon around the ring and tied it off with Linen Thread.
Super simple!

Beautiful Banner!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love the medallions too! Vicki
ReplyDeleteHey Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI love this project so much that I have decided to make this myself. Question to you though, the Cherry Cobbler medallions, do we need 3 per medallion? Mine aren't working and is the DSP pieces one piece per medallion as well? Thanks for sharing
Great idea - loving the medallions but takes a while to make them so this is still has plenty of impact but not so long to make...thanks for the inspiration!
