Where Have I Been/Specials

I know, you've probably thought I've fallen off the face of the earth....Last week at convention I got sick. I had a temperature and was achy all over. So I took some Tylenol and rested most of the day. Patty Bennett (my roommate) took super good care of me. We had our "extra" class that evening (Thursday), and I really wanted to go. I was feeling better after our awful hamburger we ordered through room service. So we went. I felt pretty good.

Next morning and the rest of convention I felt ok. I had these bites (at least that's what I thought they were), that itched. So I put Cortisone  cream on them and they seemed to be going away. Then by Sunday they started to hurt. A hurt like I've never felt before. By Monday evening my husband said, go to the Dr. tomorrow. I made my appointment and went Tuesday afternoon. My Dr. took one look and said I have Shingles. Oh no!! Shingles are very painful and since I'd had mine for over a week (and didn't know it), the antivirus won't work. I have to "tough" it out. PERFECT!!

So that is the reason I have been MIA for the past few days. As long as I take Motrin every few hours it takes the edge off the pain. My Dr. said that I could have nerve pain even if the sores clear up. REALLY?? And unless you actually touch the sores I'm not contagious. Since they are just under by breasts and around to my back (under my bra) no one would even know I had them. I'm glad I wasn't infecting everyone at convention.

This whole "event" took the "fun" out of convention for me. So I am finally unpacking all my "loot" and will be taking some photos to show you what I brought home with me. We were able to order and take home some items from the Holiday Catalog. OMG!! Best catalog EVER! Wait till you see all my goodies!

Ok, onto some of the specials going on at Stampin' Up!:
Weekly Deals good through Monday, July 28th:

Did you know you can get 50% off your first two months of My Paper Pumpkin?

We got to make up the September My Paper Pumpkin while at convention. Can you say CUTE!!!
The kit came with the burlap bags, and we stamped the tags and added the sticker. I think there were 2 other stamps that was in the kit. Plus the Clothes Pins, Black Baker's Twine and the Orange Sequins. Stampin' Up! even provided the candy that went into the bag! How cool is that?

These bags were fun and fast to put together. Sign up for My Paper Pumpkin by the 10th of August so you can get this kit too! Make sure you put me as your Demonstrator.

I promise I will be back with more convention stuff tomorrow.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your shingles! They are definitely no fun, speaking from experience. I'm glad you got to enjoy *some* of convention at least.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about your health troubles. There aren't many things worse than getting sick when you are away from home. I hope your shingles clear up quickly!

  3. Hi Cindee! So sorry you weren't feeling well during convention. I couldn't go this year and missed seeing you. Hope you're feeling better each day! I came here through your post at LNS and just love these bags! A couple of questions...so, these are in the kit that ships in September? Did they say how many in each kit? Thanks. Wanda J
